Some guy (maybe a guy and his girlfriend) hijacked the air waves on a TV Station, twice I think. Did/said some weird, but ultimately fairly harmless things for the minutes they were on air, iirc.

Pretty much he appeared on people's TV. He cut into the public broadcast. Like when villains make public announcements in comic books

He would be arrested if he had been found but he never was.

I had a Max Headroom doorknob hanger when I was a kid, came with a magazine or something.

The hardware required to do this kinda limits who could've been involved, but the fact that it's still a mystery is incredible considering how bad people are at shutting their mouths.

To be fair, no authority is probably wasting time looking into it and it's only internet sleuths and other hobbyists who are looking into it these days.

It's chicago - once heard even a microwave could have pulled this off ghetto rigged. I'm no expert, but doing it in an unsophisticated way could be one of the main reasons why they never found the culprits.

You can't keep a secret unless everyone is dead.

He might not have motive to keep quiet till he's dead.
