Yes, the last case going on and on with no change is bad and case 3 is a contender for worst case in the franchise.

But the other cases are fine. Turnabout Airlines is fairly high tier in terms of the franchise. Kay is a fun character and She, Edgey-poo and Gummy makes a great trio. Even though the last case is stupid fucking long on account of the villain, I still find him extremely neat. the story with Lang and Shih-na is good.

I really don't get it. There's a lot worse in the franchise.

It's the only Ace Attorney game I've played but never beat.

I hear lots of good about the sequel and consider giving it a second chance from time to time.

What was so bad about AAI-3 again? I remember actually liking that case.

It's not bad it's just a weak AA game. It's still excellent and has some of the best sprite work in the series

I particularly didn't like that there were no trials. It felt like I was getting half an AA game.

I liked it except for that horrific objection voice from that one attorney and the 5th case went on too long and got kind of boring.

The trials are basically just witness cross examination. The presentation is slightly different but the trial gameplay is basically unchanged from regular AA games.

Yeah, I mean that was why I stuck with it as long as I did. I think I got to the last trial and stopped, not out of disinterest but more because I was exhausted, got distracted and never returned to it. I would say it was something that bugged me, but not that the quality of the game was unable to overcome.

But there are quirky things I like specifically about the trials. Like the crowd reacting, sometimes giving comical reactions to stuff Phoenix says. Or how everyone belittles the senile judge who wasn't even present.

Like I said, I've considered giving it another shot but I'm apprehensive because it's considered one of the duds of the series and the next one isn't conveniently available to play.

It's true, the Invesitgation games' version of trials lacks a lot of the aesthetic appeal of them.
