The old worn out belt I have says 36/90 on it, a belt on Amazon I am looking at says 34-37 for small and 38-41 for medium size, should I go with the medium?

I am dieting so my W32 L30 jeans are a bit loose on me and fall down a bit, my 33x30 pants feel good.

I'd do the small then if your waist is under 32. Medium will probably give you too much slack.

So there's your number. You want something around that. The two numbers on belts indicate the largest and smallest hole size. So 34/37 would potentially be a bit large for you even.
