To dissuade you... well, I am someone who doesn't play Elder Scrolls games anymore. I've just really come to feel that they're more about quantity than quality... they're not bad, but they start to feel kind of generic after awhile. The aesthetics always seemed kind of bland and uninspired--the game world isn't that much fun to explore and move around in. These are thoughts I had when I was playing Oblivion. After I beat it I didn't feel motivated to go back and do different side quests with different characters, which is the whole point of an Elder Scrolls game. So I never even played Skyrim.

Wait for the 30 year anniversary edition

I updated to AE since a good number of mods have been converted but it seems like all the good ENBs have not been brought over. also lots of combat mods haven't been ported yet

It does seem more stable though, haven't had any crashes

Oh, it's not a new game for you? Then it doesn't sound like such a great deal to me. But then again, you know whether you like it enough to be worth buying it again, so you do you.

Just bought it today to celebrate getting a new laptop. Went from playing it on a 6 year old piece of shit that could barely run Oldrim at sub-30 fps on low settings to running SE on Ultra at a buttery smooth 60 fps. So for my specific circumstances it was worth buying just to enjoy Skyrim in an actually playable state.

It was literally my only option at the time. I'd only ever played 360 (no DLC) and PS3 (LE, but never touched the larger DLC content), so I just really wanted to try it with mods, don't judge. >_>

ENBs aren't version dependent though? They should work on any version of Skyrim SE...

Combat mods, fair, lots of those use DLL files and those do need a specific version or dependencies that may not be updated, and that's why I use the 1.5.97 version of Skyrim SE still.

No judgement. I was just curious as its so accessible on consoles.

I've been considering it myself. Haven't played the game in several years and am completely unfamiliar with the Creation Club in general, so that'd all be new.

Technically I could've also sprung for the PS4 version at some point, but I refuse to buy Skyrim on PS4. Basically any version of Skyrim where I can't bro out with Inigo is worthless to me now. Still need to rebuild my (small) mod list, really looking forward to that still. Probably could've gotten that squared away by now, but a ton of games I played on my old laptop run so much better on my new one, so I've kinda just been exploring a new world of possibilities for the moment. Deadass feel like I'm in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory right now.
