Seriously why the fuck are so many dumb teenagers here the day after Christmas. Go play with your presents.

I call it the broccoli head gang. They swarm benches and only rep like 95 pounds. While I waste time waiting for a horde of high schools to stop crowding every bench

gym pet peeves regarding said teens:

• tag teaming the only gym machine of its kind 3-4 at a time
• repping in front of the dumbbell racks
• crowding around one single machine/bench amongst others closely placed together... give me some goddamn breathing room to concentrate
• treating the gym as a social hot spot and spending more time talking/laughing than training

the only upside is that gyms where dumb teens frequent also tend to attract bigger numbers of the opposite sex.

also, as unbelievable as it sounds, there are actually teens that take the gym pretty seriously and aren't guilty of said pet peeves.

You could try a human interaction and ask to work in with them instead of complaining on a dead message board.

It's the time of year where the gym is awful to be at for working out.

I had this problem with the squat racks at my old LA Fitness. They only had 2 and they didn't have a "deadlift" area. So people would take up the racks to do deadlifts and occasionally OHPs.

So I decided to install a commercial grade squat rack in my basement along with a adjustable bench. Then I got a coupon for 25% anything at Academy Sports for their grand opening sale. Got the nicest set of weights I could find along with an Olympic bar and curl bar.

Now I just keep an eye on FB marketplace and I've slowly grown my collection of cast iron hex dumbbells. Brand new they are between 1-$2 a pound or so.

Are they actually being obnoxious or is their presence alone obnoxious to you?

This one guy at my work gym would do cardio in like 5-10 minute increments and then in between go step on the scale to see if he was losing weight.
