For a game with so much polish how did they work through all of this thinking "yeah, people will love this. This is fun".

there's only a couple of shitty ones and they're in the second desert area which is all sidequests anyway

I just found them all so finnicky and annoying. Lining up the glowing balls and doing it quickly never felt like a skill that is enjoyable to be good at, it just felt like a chore.

I got used to it at a certain point, but it is definitely annoying as fuck to begin with.

I didn't particularly love the redirection puzzles in Alfheim either. Mostly just wandering around, trying to figure out the exact angle you need to throw the axe while Atreus repeatedly says that you might need to throw the axe.

oh wait i thought you meant the axe throwing into mirrors thing, yeah the arrow stuff is garbage from start to finish

0.3 seconds after entering an area: Hey do you think you need to freeze the water, maybe with your axe? If you throw the axe it will freeze the water. Do you think you should throw your axe?

So fucking annoying

That one I actually kind enjoyed, also because it made a neat gimmick in battles.

It does alleviate a bit later in the game, I think they just went super fucking hard with it in Alfheim.
