I know I made a topic when I first started doing it.

Its easy to make some decent money if you know when to look. Its not worth doing it for base pay, or anything less than $25/hr, once you factor in fuel.

I went over on my most recent block, and they paid me an extra hour at the surge rate

so if you sign up for a day its not like you can pick how many boxes you get they give you a set amount of boxes

Sorta. They wheel out these giant carts with 3-5 totes full of packages.

ive had carts with 5 totes, but I could only fit 4 totes worth of packages in my car. They didnt deduct my pay or anything for it

its usually around 40 deliveries

The biggest downside is that you dont know where theyre going to send you, until you pick the packages up.

Ive had routes like 15 mins from the station, but this most recent one was a full hour away ugh

40 deliveries is super easy and basically light work assuming youre not delivering in the country. The people who drive the vans are doing around 200 deliveries per day. Now thats rough

Yeah I wouldnt do the DSP thing. Their subreddit gives me nightmares.

As a former DSP Amazon driver, Flex is very light work compared to what we had to do. I used to average 300ish deliveries a day.

I'd imagine they're paying a bit more this time of year since it's their busy season and they still can't keep up. Still, it's a nice gig job for the holidays at least

as it stands, its only worth picking them up basically like an hour before they start. Thats how you get the good rates.

My experience with Flex drivers hasn't always been good. They tend to throw packages on the porch from a distance, which resulted in at least one return this year.

Yeah some people dont give a shit. I live on a busy road and had a flex driver do a U Turn in my front yard

The gps wasnt working on one of my rural deliveries, so I couldnt find their house and just put the package in a random but visible spot . I wouldve searched harder if I wasnt walking through so much snow

but overall, people can see if you care about their packages or not

i downloaded the app after a previous topic about it, but there's no activity in my area. i live one mile from a pretty big FC and about 20 miles from a delivery station that they built but still haven't opened, so perhaps there'll be available work in better times

Yeah, I used to be a DSP driver. All of those subreddit horror stories are so true it hurts. I would do Flex but I left the Amazon facility I worked at in bad terms

Not sure what to do about the tax part. I guess the minimum requirement to file a 1099 is $600, but I made just* under that since I just started doing it. (Like $580)

it's nothing to worry. they specify 600$ or over.

So if I dont do anymore for the rest of the year, I just dont have to file it?

(im trying to avoid messing up my return from my FT job). I know itll be unavoidable next year though

Ehh their bonuses are not worth it, and hard to it.
