Netflix, Paramount, Disney, or whatever. Why did you eventually cancel the subscription?

I did it in response to increased subscription prices at a time when content I'm interested in either stagnates or dwindles.

Never used it so there was no reason to waste $10 a month or however much Crunchyroll was

Netflix lost all of the shows that I was watching it for.

Funnily enough, Hulu has most of those shows, so I have Hulu via Disney+ now.

Netflix, cancelled it last month. Part because they've announced to no longer allow different home addresses to share an account, part because they keep removing content. I had a Daredevil profile pic for years, and they even took that away from me. >:(

You can get Hulu through Disney+?

Anyway, I cancelled Netflix before because there was nothing on it for me anymore. I got it back over the summer for Stranger Things S4. Had it since. :(

HBO Max is looking to be next if they keep removing shit....which they will because friggin Zaslav.

So it's not what most people think of with "streaming services", but I had a Twitch channel sub that I cancelled because Twitch added tons and tons of additional advertising and made their ads impossible to block without using a proxy.

In general, I just refuse to buy into any subscription models at all anymore, other than console basic online plans because you're kind of strongarmed into those. No streaming services, no Patreons (I might sub for one payment and then immediately cancel), no premium plans like Discord Nitro, no Amazon Prime, no site memberships. The cost over time is absolutely freaking insane if you start buying into that sort of thing, and I'd get barely anything out of it.

DirecTV Stream

I originally had AT&T TV, which was OK. They gave me a cable box, but I didn't feel like paying for two to have a cable box on both of my TVs, so I just streamed stuff with my AT&T TV account on the TV in my bedroom. If I wanted to watch live sports, I would just log into whatever the app was (CBS, ABC, NBC, ESPN, etc.) with my AT&T account and it would work.

AT&T TV changed to DirecTV Stream, and they changed something within a couple weeks or so. I couldn't log into apps to watch sports like I used to. It would give me a message about my account not being authorized. I called DirecTV tech support about this, and they swore up and down that they didn't change anything. I tried to explain repeatedly that I used to do this every week to watch sports on my bedroom TV. They didn't seem to understand, and accused me of "trying to get NFL Sunday Ticket for free."

So I canceled the service and switched to Youtube TV. They tried to charge me a cancelation fee for not honoring the contract, but I told them they're the ones who changed the terms of the contract without my authorization. They let me out of the contract after I brought that up.

Thinking we'll cancel Prime after Thursday Night Football is over. Starting to get where I don't really like Amazon's dominance over everything. It's mostly just the convenience, but I don't think it's worth it anymore. My goal is to save as much as possible next year, so cutting that out will be the first of many small steps to be in better financial shape.

We currently subscribe to Hulu live, with Disney and ESPN plus. Also have Peacock. May cancel the Peacock as we haven't really watched it lately. Depending on the price for the NFL streaming on YouTube TV I might switch to that next season.

Too few shows spread across too many subscriptions. I don't watch anything at home unless it's with someone else who has a subscription or on a free service. I can't even be bothered to pirate at this point in my life. I just don't care.

Amazon Prime. Only subscribed to get free next day delivery for ear plugs during a music festival out of province. Watched a bunch of stuff, cancelled before the first payment would kick in. Already subbed to Netflix, Disney+, and Crave with HBO, no need for more.

I cancelled Netflix because there just wasnt much I wanted to watch on it anymore. When I first started it had everything. But after Disney, Warner Bros, etc created their own sites they pulled most of the content I was interested in.

Cancelled at end of free trial or because I had exhausted the content I signed up for.

Canceled Netflix, HBO, and Showtime. Also cancelled ps+ if you count that. First 2 were just because of the amount of shows they are canceling or just straight up removing (didn't even get to start the new season of Westworld because they removed it from the service) shows. There's really no point in starting something new if you know it's just gonna get canceled before season 2. Showtime was a free trial and ps+ isn't even worth it even at base price

Cost. They kept raising it and I wasn't really branching out to justify following them down the money pit.

Now why I refuse to come back when they've added things I might want to watch is another matter.

I keep Netflix and I currently get HBOMax for free, but just rotate out the rest every month. So I only ever really have two paid active at once. I just catch up on what I missed on the other services every few months.

I canceled Crunchyroll because I just wasn't using it and didn't want to waste the money...

The only other streaming services I have are ones I'm using from my family so even though I rarely use those too, I don't pay for them...
