Anyone else interested in keeping track of your weight loss throughout the year?

I am starting at 260. My goal is 225 by 2024.

I hurt my foot so I can't do that much working out. So it's seems that it going to be my diet that changes. However food makes me happy when I am sad. So I am going to have to overcome that.

Sure! About 186 right now. Not sure where I want to be as it depends on muscle mass. Somewhere btwn 170 and 175 most likely.

I am about to start dry January so that should help kickstart.

Currently up to 210 from holiday goodies packing on the water weight. Ten of that will fall right off in a week or so. Goal is 175 by June which will make me very lean. If I go lower I will achieve my lifetime goal of making my body look super veiny like a roadmap covered in dick skin.

i keep track of my morning weigh-ins in my notebook that i also do my daily to-do list and track my workouts in. after getting down to a low of about 192 last year, i'm back up to about 210 right now. i really want to get under 200 again, and down further than i did before. i suffered a hernia back in January and couldn't do any of my workout or physical therapy routine for awhile there, but i'm easing back into it right now, and hopefully i'll be able to ratchet up the physical activity back to where it was and beyond, and get the weight loss back on track.

Sure I'll join in on this. It might help keep me on track. I started losing weight in 2022, but I've been slacking. But I've been consistently staying at 239 lbs since October, so at least I'm not going back up lol.

Anyway, I just weighed myself and I'm 239.4 lbs and I'm 5'11". My goal is to be somewhere between 170 and 190 lbs. I'll wait until I get below 200 to decide exactly how low I want to go.

I'm at 270. Can't really exercise atm, going through chemo treatment so my body requires a lot of sleep. Dropped from 300 to 270 in about 3 weeks, that wasn't fun. Diabetes pills apparently did that.

After this week I'm going back to working out again. Got Ringfit Adventure, DDP Yoga, a treadmill and a home gym at my cousins. Goal is 200 by end of year. Probably will hit that before September if I keep at it. Getting an appt with a dietician sometime this month.

I was doing quite well until October when my personal life kinda went nuts (my wife applied for MAID, see my other topic all about that) and have since slowed down on taking care of myself. Gonna get back to it right away.

if that acronym means what I think it does, I'm so sorry. My uncle is not doing well and my aunt... well lets just say because of that she's put herself in hyper mode. She might get 4 hours of sleep a night. Hell, her family was staying at my place while I'm healing at my parents and after she dropped them off at the airport at 3 in the morning instead of going home and sleeping she went to my place to clean up.

January 3rd weigh in - 323 pounds

I remember being as low as 288 in the past 16 months so, there would be my first target. Well, first "target" would be like, 320, then 310, etc. etc.

I got down to 200 before christmas but relaxed on my diet and managed to gain a few lbs over the last 2 weeks. I started at 224 and have sort of hit a plateau between 200 and 205.

Nice, good job man.

And I'm sure it goes without saying, but if you do the treadmill, don't hold onto the machine while you walk. I see so many people do that, but the calorie read out is estimating based on you walking normally.

I'm 6 feet, been always lingering between 180 and 200. Tbh I've been everywhere in terms of weight, had a brief period where I felt really fucking fat cuz I was moving, and the work I had to do for the house was immense, which led me to eat a lot of unhealthy food for the energy. I look super fat in my new driver's license cuz I had to move across different states. Right now I'm back to the 180's which is where I feel comfortable. I've dipped to 170 before but I felt too hungry so I just don't want to.

I'd be thinner if I didn't grow up poor and don't like wasting food. Doesn't help my family often can't finish their food. But I'm not exactly too overweight either

Nice!
Yeah i want to not check my weight everyday but its so habitual and part of what i do to help me in the past to shed weight.
Adds an extra sense of accountability like if i gain too much weight from eating bad one day, i know to not eat as bad the rest of the week when i look at the scale lol.
I don't starve myself and still try to hit a little below maintenance calories.

I dont know if Ill ever come back to this thread again, but Im around 250. Would like to be 200ish, Id be happy to just get around 220 again.

I used to be able to make time to work out and could drop weight without changing my diet much, but since my daughter was born (she just turned five!) it has always seemed like I either just flat out dont have time because Im taking care of her, or when I do have time Im just worn out so Im going to have to really improve my diet if I want any results.

My wife lost a lot of weight on keto, but I dont know if I can effectively stick to that. Trying to just lower carbs a bit hasnt seemed to help me but Ive not gone close to going all in on it.

god I wish I could afford to go bowling. I used to play "professionally" (aka on a team when I was like 16 years old). Only ever do 5 pin. If I'm by myself I can knock out maybe 12 games an hour. The only downside with that, is because I tend to grip the ball super hard, my fingertips are shot after that day and I have to wait a week to play again.

Still want to pay 50 grand to get a proper lane installed whenever I build a proper house.

i dunno about sous vide, because there is no Maillard reaction taking place there, if i understand the process correctly. that browning of the meat from grilling it directly on a heated surface imparts soooooo much flavor. i prep my chicken breast filets on a stovetop cast-iron grill pan, and they come out so yummy. i don't think i would want to do it any other way.

that being said, that video does have some good meal ideas in general. i don't like how dismissive he is of brown rice though. it's not that bad. maybe if you have it on its own as a side like he seems to be doing, but i meal prep chicken and grain and veggie bowls with patties of mixed brown rice and quinoa, and tbh i can't even tell the difference between that and white rice anymore, because it's all mixed together with the chicken and veggies and whatever sauce or condiment i feel like mixing in, so you barely even notice its individual flavor or texture.

I eat a lot of chicken so only having to sear a bunch of fillets for a few minutes each instead of cooking them fully to temp on a pan would save a lot of time for me.

And i try to avoid rice all together, despite growing up eating rice every meal as a Filipino, but brown rice is okay. From what i remember the caloric difference is not too much different which is what i care about so given the option, i would choose white.

Im pretty much in the same situation as you, although I dont want to go lower than maybe 145. Its kind of nice to be lighter sure, but I bet wed lose a lot of strength too. Anyway, Im guessing it would take at least a year and a half to lose 120+, unless you fast like crazy.

Don't want to lose but can offer tips. I'm 6ft and got down to a very lean 155 lbs last summer from about 180. I would have lost even more if I didnt eat 4 meals a day. The best thing was consistent exercize and drastically cut out sugar and reduce carbs.
For those with type 2 diabetes I also got down to 4.7 A1C.
I'm no expert but I can offer some advice if wanted
My best advice is cut carbs and sugars and lift weights to minimize loss of lean mass as your weight goes down. ( to gain muscle you basically need to be in a caloric surplus)

oh, i guess i did miss the part where he said he seared it afterward. that's probably not so bad then.

and with brown rice vs. white rice, it's about more than the caloric difference. brown rice is more nutrient dense and actually healthy for you, whereas white rice is basically just filler. and it's not even as good in that capacity as brown rice, since complex carbs are always more filling and satiating than simple carbs because it takes your body longer to metabolize them.
