Should it?

I have always found the idea of the National Championship being on a Monday night to be an unwise idea. Even with it being moved back to 7:30 instead of 8:30, it is far too late.

Instead, why not move it to a Friday night at 8PM EST instead? It could lead into the NFL playoffs that weekend.

Alternatively, it could be played on Saturday at 7PM EST (specifically on the weekend that is Week 18 for the NFL so there is no competition for viewership).

For example, it could be played Saturday, January 7th this year. Next season, it could be Saturday, January 6th or (to allow extra rest) Friday, January 12th.

Thoughts?

Yes, I'm sure they have done no deep statistical analysis on what is the best time to have it air to reap them the maximum amount of profits.

Surely Gamefaqs will be able to solve this with statements like 'I think'.

I see your sarcasm here. I just wondered what other's thoughts were on when it airs. I just feel putting it on a Monday night is a disadvantage.

I hate prime time NFL games quite a bit but I will still watch if it's something that I really want to see. Same holds true for any prime time sports (World Series is especially annoying but I probably won't have to worry about my team making it back for a while lol).

No reason to move those things because I don't personally like them. I say let them have their big day all to themselves

They want the most viewers possible, hence on a boring night where everybody stays home. Friday night is party night. Thats why when tv shows get moved to fridays its considered the kiss of death.

I feel like the time it starts at only benefits those in MST or PST while those in CST and EST are at a disadvantage since it is such a late start on a weeknight.

Generally if people are out on Friday night, it is at places the game would be played at such as sports bars.
