I live near a college that plays in the PAC 12 conference. I found out through Facebook they were offering free food for anyone that attended the women's college game. So i took a shot.

When I looked around turns out I was the only single dude there. It was either dads/brothers with their family. Or boyfriends with their partners there. Is that normal? Never been to a women's college basketball game and judging by all the empty seats maybe no one on CE or others go to them either. I felt out of place but loaded up on the free food.

I never go to sports games, but free food is free food.

I went to a couple at my school because the women's team was loads better than the men's team. Only like 1 of the chicks was hot tho

They probably won't offer free food if they're expecting the venue to get full

What did you expect, a game where nobody dunks and that is subsidized by the NBA to be wall to wall with fans?

One of the teams playing was Stanford. And they have one tall chick that was hot. Her name is Cameron Brink.

This is college basketball. NBA nothing to do with subsidizing the women's college basketball.

I wanted it to be vague. Because I didnt want to come off as a brag. But will just say the school is apparently #2 in country so that was a bit odd as well they are having trouble filling seats.

I live in a Big 10 city (and attended the college) and have never been to a womens basketball game. To be fair though, I dont care that much for basketball and have only been to one Mens game either. Used to get season tix for football tho

my sister-in-law (15yo) is obsessed and goes to womens games all the time

There is a law that they have to have these no one care female sports to balance out all the absurb cash they spend funding football.

Ladies volley ball and tennis is usually popular.

Because nobody cares about womens sports sadly. I have been to a few and they play the game with more technicality than the men.

Maybe volleyball at Olympics. And pro Tennis. College women sports seem to not get as much attention outside of basketball. I thought the crowd was empty for the basketball game. But the acquaintance I made at the game told me college gymnastics, lacrosse, and Soccer for women is worse.

Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball coach Teri Moren said Saturday that an opportunity was missed to showcase her No. 6-ranked undefeated squad and other teams at the Las Vegas Invitational tournament this weekend because of a subpar setup for the event. A site coordinator told ESPN that he apologized to players, coaches, fans and referees about the tournament conditions, which have been discussed on social media. The tournament was played on a court in a large ballroom area at The Mirage hotel that had no stands for spectators. Chairs were set up around the court. Moren confirmed that the site coordinator, Ryan Polk, did apologize.

"What was disappointing was the aesthetics; it's not a fan-friendly environment. As women's basketball coaches, we're trying to move our game forward. It felt like because [this] got so many ticks on social, that we had taken a couple steps backward. We have an obligation to grow our game, and we completely missed on this opportunity because you have a lot of really good teams that are here. I see all these other tournaments going on and footage of that, but this was a major miss."

Maybe if women's basketball had more fans that would have been a bigger story but looks like it has probably been forgotten already or maybe people didnt even notice that story at all.

Charles Barkley is right. They wouldnt actually be trash games if theyd just lower the goal a little bit so that dunking is actually possible.

Nothing you can do about all the blown layups though.
