Amazing.

Beautiful game, and they really made the most of the concept of a remaster/remake to bring the open world to life. The original had things that i appreciated for it's time like being stopped by cops for breaking minor traffic laws (Nice change from gta), but i played mafia classic on my grandma's old dell, and let me tell you...

The original game is bullshit! When i was at my gaming prime with nothing else to do that game kicked my ass for months with the constant time restraints to get across town with those old 1930s cars. Sure, it's cool to have to let them start up, and even have to go to gas stations for them at times, but i'm just grateful they trimmed all that rage inducing design that was in it. Even if DE is on rails at times/retain streamlined mechanics. I was never able to make it passed "you lucky bastard!" on the original as shit just got too hard! Before someone says i suck i was beating ninja gaiden on hard back then too.

I appreciate this game on a bigger level than GTAs given it doesn't over stay it's welcome, and leaves you with a well told story that doesn't lose narrative momentum in the midst of fluff.

Edit: Forgot to mention how amazing the radio station system was handled. It was next level presentation.

Hell, i even am tempted to give the classic another try someday as i know the story was laid out differently in parts, but people are saying 2 is better, and i shouldn't raise my blood pressure. >_>

Thanks again, @Shake_Like_E for gifting it to me. I haven't been this into a story in a game playing out in awhile.
