Oney is a dumbass that says slurs and stuff, but he comes off more like an edgy kid that never grew up from being on new grounds about it more than anything. And honestly my main takeaway from this situation regarding him is that as dumb as he may be he appears to be the only person in that game grumps crowd that was any sort of good friend because he stuck with ding dong and Julian the whole way

I remember more or less agreeing with ding song about that stupid dream daddy game at the time but I had no idea how fucked up the situation was. I feel really bad for him

They failed to speak up when Game Grumps was attacking Ding Dong. Matt later admitted he was too scared he would get fired and sent back to his home state to do minimum wage jobs. He kept quiet and did not defend Ding Dong

All of this to me sounds like some devs and people working for Dream Daddy (which again I have no idea what they were) and then they were all assholes to Ding Dong (who, in his words, was relaying concerns from lots of others who again we don't know what the concerns were) while it sounds like Suzy was a shitheel about it all?

Did Matt and Ryan ACTUALLY actively push DD to go complain to the gamegrumps about dream daddy? That is kind of the important part. If they egged him on then threw him to the wolves, then yeah that's a dick move. But if they just said they didn't like it but didn't actually give enough of a shit to bring it up then yeah not really their fault if that is a hill they don't want to die on. Especially since that is one dumb fucking hill

As much as I hate to admit it, morbid jokes like that does seem to be SuperMega's style, but I'm not gonna say for sure that it's them. Certainly came to mind though.

As much as I like SuperMega, Matt and Ryan have some pretty fucking weirdo convos during some of their lets plays I've watched so I'm not all too surprised they'd do something slimy like initially encourage someone to speak up against something and then completely zip their lips when it comes to actually back that person up when they get heat for speaking up.

But yeah Oneyplays is so, so much better than all these other sons of bitches. Even though he's got some pretty weird fuckers on his show too like Corey and Adam.

I'd say the social dynamics of the Rockstar and the groupie have changed in the 30 years since Gene had been doing his thing. I'm not naive to believe it doesn't still happen, but I think we have a better class of music celebrity. Look at the heat Drake gets for grooming people like the actress that plays Eleven.

Plus, Arin grew up in America. He has no excuse to not understanding why the n word is bad. Chris grew up in Ireland where they might not all understand culturally why the n word is bad, when they don't have as much interaction with black people

I get where you're coming from, but I think you're doing it all wrong.

"He's Irish so he doesn't have the same experiences with black people including the bigotry" doesn't scan for a few reasons. I'd bet anything that media in Ireland is still predominantly American and British, which have black people in it, and Chris grew up on Newgrounds which - like much of the popular internet - is culturally American. It's likely his close bond with other Newgrounds content creators that led to him picking up their bad habits.

And if you've paid attention to Arin as a personality over the years, you'd know he plays up the rage for the show. While I do think he has a management team that he works with, I believe that he has a large hand in Game Grumps and his touring company that he created specifically to book shows for Youtubers. I do genuinely think he is a different person.

But that's not me coming to his defence over this. I'm disappointed over this, on top of the various other controversies and shit that's cropped up over the past 5 years. It feels like this is what LA does to people. The point I'm trying to make is that, like Backgroud Guy said, this is a bunch of opinions you've based on YouTube videos and your enjoyment of them. So are mine, but I'm not trying not to have blinders on about it. To give Oney that sort of leeway based on a cultural assumption like that really doesn't sit right with me.

Not only that but there is a huge difference between a groupie meeting a rock star backstage fully intent on getting banged out then forgotten by said star and someone who was being actively communicated with and told the other party was interested and that they should meet up when they are in town then getting used as if they were a groupie from the former example.

yeah the idea of chris not knowing slurs are bad because he grew up in ireland is about the worst take possible. he's just never grown out of his edgy phase which is p embarrassing for a grown ass man.

It was invented by the twitter people and assumed to have been somewhat intentional by the screenshotter but it seemed to conveniently deflect from like 90% of the entire thing.
