The above image is not AI generated. It's the work of an artist who goes by the name benmoran_artist. After submitting this to a popular subreddit of 22M followers, he was banned by the moderator for "looking like AI art." After reaching out to the moderator of the subreddit, he was given this incredibly flippant response.
I don't believe you. Even if you did "paint" it yourself, it's so obviously an AI-prompted design that it doesn't matter. If you really are a "serious" artist, then you need to find a different style, because A) no one is going to believe when you say it's not AI, and B) the AI can do better in seconds what might take you hours. Sorry, it's the way of the world.
The artist then went public on his Twitter page where he showed his art process and further references.

People talk shit about mods on here, but there are some absolutely garbage ones on reddit holding sad dominion over their pathetic little kingdom.

There was also an incident recently on r/minecraft where a guy's girlfriend died and he posted a picture of their base, asking for advice on how to finish it as a memorial. When he posted the finished result, the mods deleted it because chain-posts were against the rules. They also deleted the original. Then when he appealed it, he was told that he'd "milked the death of his gf for enough karma at this point."

They still haven't removed the mod responsible, but they did recently post some new updated rules with a bunch of pretty pie charts.

Looks like a Magic: The Gathering card from the Urza's Saga era or a bit later.

that's a great looking piece, and I can't imagine how discouraging it is to spend a big part of your life honing your craft, and these programs come out that can do what you do but in seconds.

art like painting and sculpting were things I always admired, and it's sad to think there's going to be a time they'll become obsolete, as people's professions, since you can't outdo technology.

These reddit mods, especially over actual subreddits that hold keys to professional access (not just funny or derpy subs) get HUGE egos in my experience. They want you to show fealty to them so they can have a hand in your success. It is weird shit.

AI art doesn't hold up under close scrutiny. This piece is clearly original. For one, her eyes and fingers look right. There's specific, clear detail in her jewelry.

AI is good at resembling real art, but there's no substitute for human detail.

This is a ebook cover, by the way. The author commissioned it for $500. The dumbass mod didn't even shit on a hobbyist.

A moderator for r/Art told me that the no AI art rule has been in place for a year or so. We don't necessarily have anything against AI Art, but when people can churn it out so quickly and easily if it's allowed the sub becomes nothing but AI art rather quickly, they said.

Moderators are human unpaid volunteers who donate their time for the sake of the community, the r/Art moderator Motherboard spoke to said, when asked to comment on the exchange between another mod and Moran. Sometimes they have bad days, sometimes they say things in the heat of the moment. We're all human. That said, if we were to reverse course now it's saying online trolls get to dictate the state of the community, which we're not ok with.

I went and looked at the ensuing shitshow and their proposed fix for moderation issues was a team of transparency mods that seem to just be running defense in the comments for the original mod.

Definitely a tone deaf response, same with this r/art situation

This is the reality of things. As soon as AI art existed, it has permanently tainted particular artstyles to the point that everyone assumes you made it by AI by default.

The reality is that either you need an entirely different artstyle for how you draw now or just give up art entirely.
