Since the Academy has confessed they don't even watch these movies and vote for whichever one either their grandkids dragged them to, or they talked about the most.

It will be a miracle for Puss in Boots or Pinocchio (the good one that also deserves recognition if that was more your style) to actually win. I remember when TS4 won the year that Klaus should have won.

If this is really true, those people should be kicked out of the academy

All I know about this movie is that misogynists hate it and the 9/11 memes, so I hope it wins.

Puss in Boots or Guillermo Del Torro Pinocchio better win. Both of those movies were amazing.

Probably Turning Red. Guillermo's Pinocchio or Marcel the Shell should win though, but the latter will probably not even be nominated, let alone win.

It's like you missed last year, where the hosts mocked the animated category and the people presenting the best animated category were the live action Disney princesses who described animation as something that your kids see and that you have to endure. Even though one of the nominated movies was a documentary on a gay afghan who escaped from Afghanistan and Russia to Denmark, and all of the animated shorts save for Robin Robin were aimed towards a more mature audience.

I did miss it. I barely was watching last year and the main thing I remember was the slap. I agree that maybe that Afghan animation should have won. But I don't remember that part of the show. Maybe I will pay. Ore attention this year and see what they do with animation

Just a reminder that this category only exists to prevent another animated movie from being nominated for "Best Picture."

There's pretty much no way Pinocchio doesn't win. I think 2022 was a really terrible year for Disney animated movies and the academy should be aware of that even without watching them.

The mere thought of an animated film winning best picture gives them conniptions, and if one actually won I feel like some boomer or two on the academy would go on a "Parasite shouldn't have been the best pitcher" tier meltdown.

Reminder that Shrek 2 was in competition to win the Palme d'Or alongside Ghost in the Shell 2 and Oldboy.

Disney's 1991 film "Beauty and the Beast" was what initially put the fear of god into the Academy when it was nominated for "Best Picture" years earlier. But the Academy believed it was a one off and it lost anyway. Then "Shrek" came along years later and the very real terror of an animated feature winning "Best Picture" came rushing back.

Idk why anybody outside of Hollywood cares about these awards. A bunch of old rich dudes sucking the dicks of other old rich dudes. Some actor who makes more money than they know what to do with receives a little gold trinket of a naked man to collect dust on a shelf.

It's lame >_>
