Ugh, I really don't want to go back. But I haven't worked in forever, had several passive incomes that we're keeping me afloat but they died out for the most part. So, a job would be really handy at the moment.

I was considering asking if I could come back for just 1 or 2 days, but figured they wouldn't have me after I walked out last time.

Then mom sees my 2 former coworkers(the ones I don't like) and they tell her to ask me to come back 2 nights a week. I was hesitating to contact them... And it's been a few days since she saw them. But the one texted me earlier asking me to come back, and I agreed.

Now I'm getting sick on my stomach thinking of going back. But I guess I'll see how it goes. Plus, just 2 days shouldn't be too bad.

But... UGH... That place.

I mean, if having the income would help, its not the worst idea Its up to you to decide if you can handle it, though

I don't necessarily NEED it at the moment, but it is just a matter of time at this point. The money would definitely help. But at just 2 nights it's not exactly going to be a lot of money either.

Can use the money to try and revive the passive income a bit too. So hopefully that takes off too. But right now I just feel more secure having a reliable source of money, even if it's at the same old place again.

Fortunately it should be fairly slow at this time of year.

Start having fun with it. Intentionally mispronounce guests names. Respond to them in slightly mocking tones, but make it so subtle they dont know. Shit in someones room.

Why couldn't you apply for other part-time work, if you don't mind my asking? Also, what were the passive sources and why did they dry up?

Idk, the meeting people is the part I struggle with most of all.

Trust me, I mess up enough to keep it interesting already. Plus, it's probably the same housekeepers which means I don't have to mess with anyone's room. Guests have found the craziest stuff after housekeeping was "done" cleaning. Hopefully my shift won't have to deal with that.

I could have, and was kind of looking. But when it came to actually applying, meeting new people, training for the job... That's the worst part. I'm no good with people. It scared me off from trying for a new job as long as I could help it.

Please don't judge, because I know it has a bad reputation, but I was selling NFTs. Saw a guy on CE talking about how easy it was to earn money that way. At that time I was wanting to quit the hotel, do any option was good. I set up an account, and put a picture up for sale... and it sold immediately. I was actually making more money for toying around on my phone for 20 minutes than I was a full shift at work.

The thing is, that was unreliable. I'd either make nothing or like $300 a night. But it averaged out to be better than working, so I quit. But then crypto crashed, people stopped buying, the site I use started charging to list one for sale. So basically I'm now either breaking even, or losing a bit. I haven't actually turned a profit from that in a few months.

Mom had some side projects I was funding too, which earned a little, but since things dried up neither of us have money to invest further into that.

So, I guess my plan is to use the income from the 2 nights to try move her projects further and I guess pay to list more pictures for sale for a higher price and hope that picks up again. Then of course, gonna save up for another beach trip this summer.

Leave sex toys in the room with an official looking paper saying we hope you enjoy your stay, courtesy and the hotels name staff

Drizzle them with chocolate syrup.

That was one of the things that was found by a different guest. lol
The guest laughed it off and was moved to another room, housekeeping went back and collected it. That housekeeper was pretty strange, and I think she took it with her.

I mean you are a pretty terrible worker for walking out, and you have a terrible work ethic, I don't know why they would take you back, and I definitely wouldn't because your mother asked me to babysit you. Every co-worker who's walked out on me because "the job hard" has made my life 5 times harder. All jobs hard.

I have a deadbeat friend who constantly victimizes his unemployed ass after not having a job for 2 years at age 30, walked out of his last two jobs, fatherless behavior. Yeah buddy if you keep running away from your jobs you're only going to have the bad ones.

Hey, this is a job where me and another coworker were forced to do 24-32 hour shifts because the other employees didn't feel like coming in that day. Or they saw the reservations and knew it'd be busy so they'd call out.

It was actually 2 sister hotels at the time(they've since sold one though). So often when someone called out, they'd close the smaller one's lobby and make us check them in at the other hotel before sending them back to the 1st. Know what that means? When they saw we had 100 reservations at each hotel, they'd skip it, and I'd get saddled dealing with 200. For someone with social anxiety, that was a nightmare.

On top of that, the guests would take frustrations out on me, alongside management being idiotic, and abusive coworkers.

That was actually my SECOND time walking out of that job. First time was due to being setup by management for theft, but I caught onto it and talked it over with a coworker. We swapped shifts and they were framed for theft which resulted in both of us leaving.

They asked me back because I'm the only employee they've had in recent years that worked my scheduled hours. That didn't cause problems for everyone else. Who could deal with problematic guests without cussing at them. Could properly do my job and everything that was asked if me.

But yes, after years and years of being overworked, used, mistreated, manipulated and cussed at all day everyday, on top of a crappy life at home, it was too much on me and I left. But I was told that I was the model employee and the best worker they had, despite the problems I was well liked by coworkers and repeat guests. My manager said that if he could have me as the only employee that he would. So I think that speaks for itself.

Besides, I don't want to go back, but I am because it'll help them out and I could use the money. But if things start going south again, like getting stuck for 3-4 unscheduled shifts I'm not going to stick with it any more. My health isn't worth risking just to give a couple of other employees a 3 day weekend.
