The first game was decent enough, better than I expected, but the second one is a huge improvement in every way and it's genuinely addicting. Exploring the mine area right now and there are mine cart tracks I can ride down, even.

Maybe a garage sale or something. I think it's worth a decent chunk these days. Or maybe it's one of the others that's worth a lot, not 100%.

It's still holding up pretty dang well imo. It's also been fun seeing the similarities with them and their modern Souls games.

Same + nice, between the jewel case & long box releases the formers easily the rarer of the two.

I think in terms of NA releases it goes Kings Field (jewel case) > Kings Field: The Ancient City > Kings Field (long box) > Kings Field II in terms of collectors value, and even II (III US) sells for a decent chunk.

I kinda wanna try it now but I don't currently have anything to play it on. The disc drive on my PS3 is broken and my PS2 runs like shit. I probably just need to clean my PS2 though.

I'm not sure if that would scratch the same itch tbh, though it's been ages since I played PS3 DeS. Still need to play DaS2, but the other entries just have a different vibe to them that's not just the different camera perspective.

Hopefully you like it if you ever do try it. The controls can be pretty rough unless you're playing it through other means.

Beat it! It was a blast from start to finish, and Guyra was a cool final boss. I hated the final boss of the first game. x.x Dunno when I'll get around to KFIII & IV. Kind of bummed I'm halfway through them already.
