This way poorer people who are saving don't have to pay as much taxes unless they're living outside their means. Stupid or nah? --- Pronouns: **They/Them #ProtectTransKids, #BLM, #ADHD, #CapitalismSucks ... Copied to Clipboard!

They barely earned or brought anything to tax in the first place. So their standard of living will nosedive without benefits. The middle and high class though would probabaly benefit from it immensely. --- 3DS FC:3368-5403-9633 Name: Kaizer PSN: Blackkaizer ... Copied to Clipboard!

Sales taxes should literally be eliminated. They punish poor people, punish economic activity, and have few exceptions even when the items are essential. They're also annoying from a psychological standpoint, like you can't easily buy anything with an exact amount of cash. Taxes should be based on income and assets, period. Rich Republicans hate this. --- http://i.imgur.com/WWk7D.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hE7v5GL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/sY9YLKe.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9e67vqt.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

consumption taxes are heavily skewed towards disproportionately affecting the poor. this is why Republicans want to replace income tax with consumption tax. https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/briefing-book/who-bears-burden-national-retail-sales-tax Because lower-income households spend a greater share of their income than higher-income households do, the burden of a retail sales tax is regressive when measured as a share of current income: the tax burden as a share of income is highest for low-income households and falls sharply as household income rises. The burden of a sales tax is more proportional to income when measured as a share of income over a lifetime. Even by a lifetime income measure, however, the burden of a sales tax as a share of income is lower for high-income households than for other households: a sales tax (like any consumption tax) does not tax the returns (such as dividends and capital gains) from new capital investment and income from capital makes up a larger portion of the total income of high-income households. --- Playing: The Last of Us Part II I hope something good happens to you today ... Even if it was put in place the sales tax would just be horribly skewed higher. --- Paula Wood. My love, my life. 1980-2021 https://store.steampowered.com/wishlist/profiles/76561198210788964/#sort=order ... Copied to Clipboard!

GreenCookie posted... This way poorer people who are saving don't have to pay as much taxes unless they're living outside their means. Poorer people already pay little to none federal income taxes. So removing federal income taxes, and forcing them to pay a consumption tax, would increase their costs. Unless you give some kind of monthly rebate to the poor to offset the increased hardship. --- http://avatar.xboxlive.com/avatar/emblem%20boy/avatar-body.png haters gonna hate ... Copied to Clipboard!

Stupid idea because ignoring all rich vs poor people debate. USA tipping culture would exponentially worsen the problem for everyone since everyone expects at least 20% tip and tip is 99% of the time computed after taxes and fees. Imagine: $10 burger $1 supplemental income fee $1 sales tax $2 federal tax Subtotal $14 Tip options: 18%, 20%, 25% Total: $16.8 --- Go and watch Ef ~ A tale of memories now! ... Copied to Clipboard!
