Final season Part 3 Part 1 eh... fine I'll take it but holy crap will it be 2024 before it finally wraps.

Now wondering where the cutoff between the two parts will be. start of attack on Eren is probably too little for part 1, blowing up neck leaves too little for part 2. Falco save would be "just right", I guess?

Also they were running with 1 ep per chapter for most of the final season and there's 9 chapters left, not to mention the "extra pages"? The fact it's only 2 parts is a little surprising.

Absolutely bonkers decision. I was so hyped for FINAL SEASON (Part One) and now I'm like zzzzz

Tried another currently airing shows. Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible was kinda cute, but too boring for me to watch more than the 1 episode. Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill was surprisingly pleasant. Then the giant dog showed up and was fantastic.

I sure picked quite the time to start reading Frieren with THAT being the first new chapter to hit.

And now that I looked around it seems the series is going on a lengthy hiatus because this was the end of Part 1 of the series.... 107 chapters in.

Scans are 12 volumes behind and haven't been updated in a year.

Trying to rememeber the name of an anime from the late 2000s/early 2010s.

Shounen series. Outfits they wore were like shrine priests/maidens. They made various types of barriers to fight, like cubes and stuff? I think it may have been long.

I was also about to look into watching Twin Star Exorcist finally, but it looks like that's still an ongoing manga?? Wild, had no idea it was a monthly seinen, too.

JJK author says they want to finish in a year. He's either taking from the Oda playbook of BS or this series is gonna be the most disappointing thing ever.

JJK definitely feels like they don't know what they're doing so maybe it's time to end it, TBH.

The friend who I convinced to read Frieren 2 days ago and caught up yesterday morning is very mad at me lol.

I don't feel like it was supposed to end yet. There were lots of named people that hadn't shown up yet. But the past arc has been meandering as hell and it'd be kind of a lame build up to a finale. We got like no screen time for main characters still.

The Latest On Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte - Two people play an otome game and the Prince of the game can hear their voices somehow so he can realize the princess is cute and change the ending of the game lmao. The game is called Majikoi, but theres no way its as good as the real VN Majikoi.

High Card - What if finding one of 52 special cards could give you a super power. Doesnt sound too bad.

Sugar Apple Fairy Tale - The story of a girl who wants to be friends with her male fairy bodyguard in a world where fairies are sold into slavery.

Saving 80,000 Gold In Another World For My Retirement - The MC can swap between her own world and the isekai world so she can save up money after her family suddenly dies and others try to steal her inheritance. Wow why wouldnt she just ditch the shitty real world since it sounds like she basically lost everything and has too many problems there???

Kaina of the Great Snow Sea - This series actually sounds interesting.

Giant Beasts of Ars - Beasts make land. Humans take land. Beasts start eating man. Man calls upon gods to fight beasts. What a wild ride.

Mononogatari - Sounds better than another series with a similar name and the main girl is a lot cuter too.

I would vote Ranking of Kings if it was the whole thing, but cour 1 was better than cour 2.

Also I don't remember the nominations being fall season to summer instead of winter to fall, but I can't remember for sure. Seems super strange that the entire last 3 months of the year aren't eligible?

Yeah the time period is new I think. It might make sense if they ran these in December, but it seems silly to have a time limit like that if you're starting in January.

Made in Abyss is in a few here, probably less than it should be. Still haven't watched it myself though, just getting tough and tougher for me to watch adaptations regardless of quality. Not even watching Vinland S2 and that first episode was great!

I lot of series appear CONSTANTLY in these categories and I don't think there's anything obvious to cut, though. I mean I don't care about these Titan seasons or Spy x Family, but clearly they should be here.

Yeah came in to mention that wierd inclusion, so strange. Found the rules and it says November 2021 to September 2022. Why November specifically??

MiA S2 is certainly high on my priority list for when I do get to it, since the manga isn't always easy to follow and it benefits a lot from being an anime (Straight up there's like a full third of the arc where I couldn't tell you what was actually happening while reading it). Compare to Vinland where it's an excellent anime, but I'm not really getting anything out of it that I don't get from the extremely good looking to begin with manga.

By that logic, they'll just sweep next year. Unless he meant being swept. It's more likely CSM is being protected from AoT

Recency bias is a bigger deal than you may think! The Chainsaw fans are ravenous, too. If CSM were to be in this now I have no doubt it would take nearly every category it was put in regardless of whether it deserved it or not, which I don't think will be the case a year from now (Unless cour 2 hits by then in which case God help us)

Hero Aca and Demon Slayer already showed this to be true for these awards, and if we're talking social media zeitgeist CSM was already touching them before the anime even aired.

I can't speak for Titan's current quality as an anime because I haven't even seen a clip in years, but on that note I can speak for how much buzz it gets by comparison and in the current landscape it ain't close. I mean heck, the only reaction I saw to the final season announcement earlier this week were people laughing about the name!

In fairness, the name deserves to be laughed at.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel - Northern War - I like the 2 Cold Steel games Ive played so far so I might be a little interested in this.

The Fire Hunter - All this fire stuff just reminds me of Fire Force which I never finished the second season of. Maybe this show will be better?

Tsurune 2 - Never watched the first and dont think Id ever be interested in doing so.

The Tale of the Outcasts - Uh the chart makes this sound like a romance between an orphaned child and a super old demon.

I finished Space Battleship Yamato 2199, and god damn if it didn't succeed on almost all marks. I was worried the show wouldn't stick the landing, but I was dead wrong, and I'm happy it was consistently amazing from start to finish. The only regret is that it is over, so I can't watch it anymore.

But hey; always gotta move forward.

Just caught the first episode of Trigun Stampede (dub version). I'm not completely sold. I'm not against any of the changes in the characters that much. Vash still feels and sounds like Vash (JYB returning obviously helps), but it feels kinda...artificial or weightless. The original show had its stupid moments, but beneath it, you could tell something was brewing. I'm getting GITS 2045 vibes from this.

It's only the first episode, so who knows. I think it'll really come down to how Meryl and "not Milly" interact with Vash in later episodes.
