Animated movies are not for me, but the animation was next level for this movie. The writing was pretty good too. Its rated PG and it actually pushes the rating this time with blood, violence, and the language at some points.

I didn't like the first Puss In Boots. Wasn't interesting and there were at least 2 plot holes I rememeber.

It's hard to compare, really. I think Puss in Boots was definitely funnier, though.

Watched the first one before this movie and I can say I didnt care for the first movie very much. It was pretty forgettable. The second one is def worth watching though.

Part of me is debating if I should try to sit through the first one. But then another part of me thinks that I might have to sit through the shrek 2 sequels as well.

Its too many mediocre looking kids movies just to get some background on the new supposedly good kids movie.

all you need to know from the first one is that Puss had a love interest in that movie and she returns for this one. they don't even reference anything that happened in the first one.
