What do you do to make a little extra cash on the side that's not your main source of income?

I work at a small grocery store on the weekends for a few hrs in the bakery dept. Super chill job and easy money

I lend money to my friend's company and he gives me 12% interest on it I guess

but I really can just put as many hours as I want for my main income, dont really need a side gig

What this means from him is that we shouldn't negatively judge people for doing whatever it takes to make money or to succeed.

Honestly, I can't stand the guy with that logic. Morality and ethics barely effects his way of thinking because he thinks the world is cruel and you gotta do whatever it takes to get ahead. He also doesn't believe in bad publicity and thinks infamous people are playing some big deep con to trick people into buying into their bullshit(like Alex Jones). He can't hate on grifters because they're just out there tryna make some bread is his belief.

Volunteered a few times for clinical drug trials when I badly needed the money.

Nothing, thankfully. We both have 35 hour/week union jobs, she makes double what I do, and we have no kids, so we're quite comfortable as is and there's no need to work after working.

People like this have a hole in their soul. They cant never make enough to fill it. Its a curse and its toxic thinking. Even more so if morality and ethics are shunned.

How much did you have to spend in total to get that 10k? Might try it myself. Have about $19k on a credit card that's literally just medical bills and my goal for the year is to get it down to under $10k, wiping out even more/the rest of it with some sign up bonuses would be great >_>

The vast majority of the spending involved was for the credit card bonuses, which usually have a few thousand $ spend requirement to earn. I typically only do a couple of those per year, and use estimated quarterly tax payments to meet the spend threshold, so only $1,100 of the year's total haul came from credit cards.

Bank and brokerage account bonuses are my main hobby though, and I opened probably 35 deposit accounts over the course of 2022. Often these involve either keeping a certain dollar amount on deposit for a certain period of time, or having a certain dollar amount direct deposited into the account periodically for a certain number of months (luckily, most banks can't tell the difference between a real direct deposit and an electronic transfer from one of your other bank accounts!). Sometimes you'll be required to complete a certain number of transactions with a debit card, but you can usually just do multiple 50 cent Amazon balance reloads to satisfy that.

Have to be sure to read the fine print in all circumstances to avoid fees and ensure you meet the requirements for a payout. I started the year with about $100k in cash to mess around with, so I was able to leverage that into a ~10% risk-free return in a down market year. You could still make out pretty well with a substantially smaller bankroll though.

I'm in a bit of a special situation where I can change my work direct deposit at my own discretion, which is often not even necessary though, as direct deposits for bank account bonuses are easily spoofed.

Clinical trials every other month or so.
Easy $5-11k. Been going strong 5 years now.
