While this is a very horrible, maybe this would remind people , that there is still a war going on and people are dying. IT seems that people have forgotten.

So far I'm only seeing that a helicopter crashed, not that it was shot down? Indeed, the source you linked implies it was due to weather conditions...

doesn't matter however much they're emboldened if they're not given the arms they need to push russia out of the country

they need weapons that have the range to strike far into russia's borders

There's at least two other wars going on in the area once occupied by the USSR everyone's forgotten. The Ukraine-Russia war is just the only one that's politically significant to the west.

A proxy war is an armed conflict between two states or non-state actors, one or both of which act at the instigation or on behalf of other parties that are not directly involved in the hostilities.

Ukraine is acting in self-defense, however a significant chunk of their success is due to US aid.

While the Ukraine/Russian War is not a proxy war by traditional definition, it is not entirely unfair to see the parallels it has to a proxy war

Why not leave it at that? It is the Ukrainian perspective after all - grateful for US aid but this is a battle against Russian oppression/imperialism that dates back hundreds of years.

The US is benefiting from the weakening of Russia and their military on the global scale and it is a big part of why they are sending so much foreign aid, but to call this a proxy war despite Ukraine receiving very little support from NATO prior to the 2022 invasion and prior to the strength shown by the Ukrainian people does nothing but help Russia save face as they continue to lose.

If the defense is too successful amd Russia is counter-invaded, most countries assume Putin will say "fuck that mo forst use thing I agreed to" and start nuking shit. Which would be, you know, BAD.

Zelensky blamed Russia for the stray missile that killed Polish civs across the border when it was later proven to have been a Ukranian missile, so I would take anything he says with a grain of salt.

Everybody initially feared or blamed Russia because Russia is the only active aggressor in the region. Who'd you have blamed before the smoke settled?

And regardless the Ukrainian missile wouldn't have been fired, if Russia hadn't been firing missiles.

Frankly I wouldn't be mad if I read a news headline saying how moscow was firebombed ww2 style.

Everybody feared it was Russia yes, but no other world leader including Poland or Biden or the rest of NATO announced blame until it was fully investigated. Except Zelensky who immediately declared it was Russian. And he should know better given it was his own missile.

Regarding whether or not the missile should have been fired thats got nothing to do with the point Im making - which is that Zelensky is not a reliable source of facts when it comes to accidents in the sphere of this war, as proven by this particular example.

If Ukraine shoots an anti-air missile in self defence because Russian is invading them, but Ukraine misfired and the missile they shot killed a civilian, that is still absolutely 100% Russias fault because the only reason they shot the missile to begin with was due to Russias invasion. I didnt think there was anyone out there at all who disagreed with this logic apart from maybe Russia
