I've been afk for almost 8 hours at the honey farm and this is all I got. The bees are gone. WTF?! There's two in the farm not doing anything, just sitting there.

Okay, what?! I bring the hives back to the apiary, and bees pop out. So they were in there the whole time, they just weren't doing anything. I'm so confused.

Yeah I have no idea what's wrong. The bees will no longer leave the hives while in the Nether. No idea why. I could just rebuild the farm in the overworld, but the reason it's in the Nether is because bees aren't supposed to sleep in the Nether. I thought maybe the reason was because I entered the Nether at night, but resetting the hives and placing them back in during the day does nothing. The farm is kaput. :|

Edit: Saving and reloading fixed it. :| papercup's getting upset

Out of frustration I decided to go farm Spruce logs for idk what. Chests and hoppers I guess. I'm actually mad at a wasted 8 hour afk session.

Built a Hoglin farm. Shockingly this thing actually works. Not well, it spawned a lot of Piglins, but like a minute afk I got a stack of porkchops and leather. I kind of can't believe this thing works.

Ayy found another Silence trim! 2/4! Still need to locate more Trail Ruins though to get more of those trims. I know I can duplicate them with diamonds, but that's expensive.

Found a trail ruins and excavated it. Was looking for more and stumbled on a witchs hit. Spent the past couple hours building the farm, now Im doing a 10 minute afk test.

And it works :D Probably would be more useful to build a raid farm, but raid farms are harder and could kill me even if I built them right. But still this should cover some redstone needs for a while.

You know these trail ruins things are actually kinda neat. It would be cool to excavate one of these and turn it into a base. Actually the first one I found a few weeks ago I just completely dismantled for the mud bricks and terracotta, so maybe I could actually find another one of these sometime and fix it up. Got all the armor trims I need from them though, the other loot isn't great. Next time I play I want to search for some desert pyramids, and ocean monuments to get those trims.

Edit: Oh! Also while I was out exploring today I got the Adventuring Time advancement! So I've apparently visited every biome in the game.

This is my new friend, Gobi :3 We went on an adventure together across the southern desert. We explored the pyramids and wells, went trading with the locals, and uncovered ancient and valuable treasures. Including armor trims, diamonds, pottery sherds, and even some Notch Apples. In fact one temple had 7 golden apples, 3 diamonds, 2 Dune Trims and a Notch Apple.

Filled 2 shulkers full of honey blocks finally (seriously, like a 6 hour afk session is only like 5 stacks of blocks) And then went afk at the Witch farm for 3 hours and this is what I got. Filled all the powders, spider eyes and bottles into a shulker box, and left it at my brewing place. That should be good enough to last me a very long time. Also last night I was exploring Ancient Cities and a Warden popped my last totem, so sometime this week I want to build that raid farm and get a shulker or two full of totems.

Finally had time to build that raid farm. It works! like 4 minutes of farming right here. For some reason the first time I ran it the vexes got through the boat traps and killed me. Reset the farm and now it's working flawlessly. I think it would help if I got Sweeping Edge on my sword though.

I think my next project after I farm totems for a bit is to make a tunnel boring machine for diamonds. Cus it occurs to me that I might need a lot more diamonds than I have currently to make all the trims, upgrade templates and armors. But idk when I'll get to that. Pikmin 4 next week and also big FFXIV update coming that will eat even more into my Minecraft time.

Both the raid farm and witch farm are actually kinda far away from my base, a few thousand blocks each in opposite directions from each other. So I decided before logging off to build up a little infrastructure. nothing too fancy, no ice highway, yet, but decided to place slabs and froglights in the [0,0,0] block of chunks on the Nether roof leading towards the portals. looks kinda neat actually. Eventually, yeah I want to go find some frozen oceans, farm a bunch of blue ice, and make ice highways.

Been busy the past week with FFXIV stuff. Might hop into Minecraft a bit today

Forgot to mention I built a Piglin trading thing the other day. Built a platform above the Nether in a crimson forest, put glass every other block to prevent hoglins spawning, built up like 100 blocks with scaffolding, came down, name tagged the adult piglins, lured them into a hole, repeated until I had 24 got rid of the spawning platform and built a rudimentary storage system below them. So I can just throw them gold from the gold farm and profit.

Went exploring, found an ancient city with a Silence trim, which makes 3 so far. It was underneath a REALLY cool jagged peaks. I think I want to turn that mountain into a base whenever the ancient city portal opens. Then I went and spawn proofed the witch farm swamp to improve the rates, went afk for a few hours to play Pikmin, and yeah I think that helped with the rates. Also expanded the storange in my current base a bit, built some rooms for brewing, enchanting, sleeping, smelting, essentials like that just have to more access to those things since my starter base is just getting larger and larger all the time.

Completely spawnproofed all surface blocks 128 blocks around the witch farm. Didnt really do the caves unless I found an opening and only went so far in. Honestly dont think I need to since my afk platform is so high up. I can already tell the rates are improved. Time to go afk for like 7 hours and see how much stuff I get. Want to get like a shulker of each powder.

Finally found time to do some TNT mining for Netherite. 1 full shulker of TNT rendered 1 and a quarter stacks of Ancient Debris. Possibly just got unlucky, had large swathes of tunnel with nothing inside of it. But to build 1 Netherite armor set for each trim, I believe I need 3 more stacks, debating whether to do another Shulker of TNT today or do it tomorrow. I kinda want to go play some Pikmin now. :3

Big changes to trading, curing a zombie villager only grants a discount once, and librarians are getting a big overhaul so powerful enchantments are only sold by master librarians, and the biome of origin matters too. Also diamond generation is overhauled, diamond ores are MUCH more common in deep slate level caves now.

I was wondering when theyd start new snapshots, felt like we were waiting too long for new sub patches.

Got another 90 pieces of ancient debris today. Everything I got yesterday, plus what I'm sitting on at my base I'm... about 4% of the way to a Netherite beacon. Oh boy. And that's not even what I'm getting this batch of ancient debris for, and I also want to get some to build a tunnel bore for diamond ore lol

3 shulkers worth of TNT has so far yielded 4 stacks of ancient debris. Last 2 days I mined at y=11, today I mined at y=13. I got slightly more today than I did the first two days, but, it was much harder to navigate at that level due to that much more lava. In fact after I placed all the TNT, there were a few places in the tunnel where my only option to move forward was to drink a fire resistance potion and swim through lava. I'm almost certainly missing some ancient debris due to it being buried under endless lava. So I'm not sure if y=13 was really better or not. Also I've been placing TNT on every blocks, I kinda want to see about placing it every other block, but that might expose less ancient debris, idk.

Haven't played any in several days, will try to find the time this week to do some more ancient debris mining. It's going to be a very slow, time consuming project.

Oh apparently a dev accidentally leaked that a possible desert revamp is coming and left sand blocks of various sizes in a snapshot screenshot. When called out on it he said that yes they're tweaking deserts internally by changed sand blocks to be similar to snow where they accumulate into full blocks. It might not be a full released feature coming, but it sounds like they are looking at revamping deserts.

Had time to play some today. The hole is about 1/8th dug out \o/

The new snapshot build nerfed crafters, making them work slower. Everyone is complaining so this change probably wont last

From what I've seen, people are kind of ambivalent about the crafter nerf (faster crafting would be nice, but slowing crafting down for balance purposes is understandable), but the nerf to copper bulbs has pretty much everyone that cares about redstone up in arms. The one-tick delay bulbs used to have was a massive paradigm shift for redstone contraptions that opened up a huge range of options for streamlining builds and creating new ones. Getting rid of that delay makes the new block pretty much useless, and as far as anyone can tell the only actual reason for the nerf was because they couldn't figure out how to give it a 1-tick delay in Bedrock and they wanted to maintain parity. Redstone people are, understandably, pretty pissed that the biggest thing to happen to redstone in years was turned into something mostly useless for the sake of parity with a version they don't care about.

Sure I see why thats a problem. I assume there will be 1-tick data packs though. Also I have not played in a while because Im addicted to Mindustry. >_>

Not that I know of. Also Armadillos and Wolf Armor were added to a bedrock preview today. No Java snapshot as far as I know.

Been several weeks since Ive played. Ill try to return to it soon and make more progress on some of my projects, just been busy with other games.
