Ad blockers tend to just block "bad" ads. You know ones that do things.

Can you recommend a good one for Firefox?

Between uBlock Origin and NoScript, I haven't seen ads on GameFAQs in a very long time. They long ago killed any chance of me putting up with them by being as obnoxious as possible with their placement, format, and the risk of outright harming my computer some of them brought.

I had them start showing up awhile ago (a few months maybe?) despite my adblocker. Ublock origin fixed that though.

NoScript. It's not even an adblocker per se (though a lot of ads on a lot of sites run off javascript), but I've never seen a single ad on GameFAQs since I started using it.

Basically, you just need to allow gamespot.com on your whitelist (otherwise it messes with some functionality like quoting posts), but block everything else. It blocks all ads here.

I started using it around the time that GameFAQs was running animated ads that would hardlock my browser. Because if they can't be bothered to give a shit about my computer's safety, I can't be bothered to give a shit about their ad revenue.
