MILWAUKEE, Wis. Say goodbye to Mountain Dew and hello to Mello Yello, Culver's is switching to Coca-Cola products.
A spokesman for the Wisconsin restaurant chain said the transition from Pepsi to Coca-Cola products is in progress. The spokesman said the process will "take time" given Culver's has almost 900 restaurants in 26 different states.
Don't worry though, if you're a fan of the root beer and Dr. Pepper at Culver's, you can still purchase those products.
"We would like to remind our guests that in addition to Coca-Cola products, many favorites including Culvers Signature Root Beer, Diet Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, and fresh brewed sweetened and unsweetened tea are also available to enjoy with their fresh, never frozen ButterBurger," a spokesman for Culver's said.
When the news broke about the switch, fans of the restaurant took to social media. Some people praised the change, saying they prefer Coke over Pepsi, while others are upset about it.
One Twitter user wrote, "I think that it is a big mistake to change from Pepsi to coke. I love Pepsi. I will not be ordering a meal with a drink anymore. Do not change the Pepsi to coke."

A Reddit user, however, praised the decision saying, "As long as the Dr pep and root beer dont change then its fine. Its about time we rid the earth of the monstrosity that is Pepsi."

As a Wisconsinite, I personally don't care much about the beverage selection. They're still the best fast food burger around. And they still have Dr. Pepper and some awesome own-brand Root Beer.

But some people are really upset about the change. I could understand getting mad about Mountain Dew going away, since that's basically the state drink after Miller Lite and Bloody Marys. Mello Yello just doesn't compare. But otherwise the change won't affect me much.

i usually dont drink soda, but on the rare occasion I do, its Pepsi

90% of the time when I get the best fast food burger, Culvers, I just drink water with it. Save those calories for the cheese sauce

However, the Coke/Pepsi choice is pretty irrelevant at Culver's as long as they keep their root beer the same.

its a crazy good burger and frozen custard place they put butter on their burgers

and they have fried cheese curds that are phenomenal and their root beer is very good

Didn't even know people drank Mountain Dew when they ate. Seems like something you drink without food.

I dont think it always means theyre doing poorly, but that they make less money than others.

Yeah, their fries are a weak point. Their chicken isn't that good, either. Their fish IS good, but if you get fish and chips you gotta deal with those gross crinkle cut fries.

If you get MTN dew anywhere other than taco bell, ask yourself some serious questions.

Never had Culver's since they're not near me, but yeah that would be the only drink I care about. I never get soda from fast food places anyway, but I'd try that.

Culvers is overpriced as fuck and there hasnt been a single time they didnt fuck up my order.

curds with a value basket are an additional charge. So fries are the default, and aren't that bad.

That being said, their curds are mid tier if you've ever had fried cheese anywhere else in Wisconsin.

Its weird that Ive never heard of Culvers till I moved to Indiana. Being a Texan I feel like people at least know what Wataburger is around the country.
