My friend works for a solar company. And apparently theres a lot of misconceptions about it but the panels are definitely not free.

So he tells me that Republican homeowners are the worst because they just waste his time. He goes to tell them about it and they get upset because they panels arent completely paid for by the government. Isnt that, like uh, socialism?

According to him, they also have salesmen come out solely to yell at them and abuse them with dumbass Fox style gottcha questions with absolutely no intent on actually purchasing solar panels. He says, You know how D&D nerds eventually grow bored of it and then its just not enough, and they have to go to the park and LARP with foam swords and shields? Well, some republicans grow bored of simply watching Fox and they have to act out interviews with anyone willing to come by their house.

I actually have two coworkers who have talked about calling solar companies and demanding to know what sort of government contracts they have and other kinds of stuff. I say to them "Dude they are just there to sell you equipment" and they get outraged with the "How can they sell this stuff if they don't know about what their bosses are doing with my money?" It isn't just this I've heard one guy brag about how he goes to regularly goes to harass the governor and state congress members with his nonsense conspiracies and attends random conventions and events to attempt "educating" people about why drivers licenses are bad and shit. He's completely unable to understand why people look uncomfortable and sometimes scared around him when he starts ranting.

Traitors don't live in the real world, they actually do stuff like this A LOT. You just don't hear about it unless you know someone who works in those fields or does that type of harassment. It seems to go in cycles too. My mom works for the DNR and they will go months with normal communications from the public and then all the sudden get dozens of freedom of information act requests about big foot or the government dropping snakes from planes on their property and stuff.

Exactly. There's no shortage of loons on the left too. I remember a lady making rounds a while back telling people they needed to ask their baby for consent before they can change it's diaper, lol. There's nutjobs everywhere. Assigning a political affiliation to them is pointless.

While I probably wouldn't myself, I do understand the reasoning behind it. It's a good way to teach your kids about bodily autonomy. But at the same time I think the repetition and casual use might make the kid downplay the severity if an adult did abuse the child.

My parents lean really hard in one direction, right or left. But I'm glad I was allowed to grow up with my own ideas, ask my own questions, and discard anything I didn't believe/find value in.

Which is why I disavow the whole system in it's current iteration, as it stands in both political and social views in this year 2023.

D and R are giant shells running name brand, built-in, "do or die" fan bases. No one that is nominated is ever "the best the country has to offer". It is a club member that has paid their dues in service, money, their soul, or all 3. All of it bought and paid for, and we get to "choose" the results of tose nominees. The sticking points that they use to keep the voters divided between D and R, those hot topics... Yeah - they don't wanna fix those. If they do, what else are they gonna use to have you running back to the voting booths? Las Vegas casinos have more transparent and fair set ups than the government.

And I'm lauhging, LAUGHING at anyone who rushes in to vehemently defend the system that crushes and glides over the public slowly, like an iceberg - but never so graceful. People who figuratively and literally (for those who like to protest in the streets) prostrate themselves in front of the machines that would not, will not, stop because of their ignorance.

Pretty much every presidential election (primary and general) -- and most general elections -- my reaction is "really?" CT's governor election twice in a row has been between two clueless millionaires while the democratic primary that put the millionaire in the general election was between that millionaire and a mayor who literally went to prison for corruption. Considering CT's elected officials, it's no surprise it's among the worst-run states in the nation where it has every advantage and is next to prosperous states yet has been a mess. If Alabama or Mississippi had CT's location, they'd be many times better off than CT.

Conflating Democrats and Republicans is its own brand of ignorance that ignores the many vast differences in their voting records. You can leverage tons of criticism against Democrats that I will agree with. It is wholly inaccurate to suggest that they represent two sides of the same system. American politics would be far less volatile with all Republicans removed. Abortion would not be threatened. More background checks for firearm purchases would be required. You suggest that "they don't wanna fix those", but the voting record displays otherwise. Would there still be an extreme amount of work to do to guarantee better for the American people? Yes. Would eliminating the further right party from the race benefit the American people on average? Yes.

It is an extremely shallow assessment to conflate them. Extremely.

Yes, I think 'running back to the polls' to attempt the reversal of a Conservative majority supreme court is something that shouldn't be admonished. Yes, I can want for better. Yes, I can recognize the shortcomings of the 'better' mainstream corporate party. Yes, I can recognize that a vote for them is more useful than prattling on online about the 'two sides being the same'. Seems like the people that say 'they're all the same' end up simping for some contrarian politician like Ron Paul or Tulsi Gabbard that performatively says the same thing and then go ahead and do all the shit they claim to be against.

also enjoy that your post is entirely unspecific language and metaphors based in emotion.

I dont think its inaccurate to say theyre two sides of the same coin (system) at all. Its just that the coin is owned by Two-Face and one of the sides is clearly more fucked up than the other.
