Game was easily my GOTY last year. Firaxis doesn't miss.

Are the levels/stages slow paced?

It seems interesting enough but I dont particularly have time for super long sections of games atm.

They're a. It slower, it's paced like...XCOM, I'd say. But you can save mid game and get back to it whenever. The whole game took me about 25 hours total, so it's not a Persona length game or anything. But infinite replayability.

I'll grab the game whenever it's on sale eventually. Not really sure why the devs chose a card based combat system of all things though.

I hated the idea of cards but decided to try anyway because of some of the characters. Ended up being one of my favorite '22 games

I didn't like the idea but I think it works pretty well in the game.

At first I wasn't a fan, but it offers a bit of variety to the combat that I didn't expect, and a new dimension compared to what I expected(which was Marvel XCOM). And I ended up loving it.

Quickly became one of my favorite games of last year. Did everything you could really do in it, so eager for the DLC and to see what comes next.

I just burnt myself out on it. I really enjoyed it I just dont have the attention span to play and finish most games anymore

Nice trailer. I'm in Act 3 but I think I'll hold off finishing the game until Deadpool drops.

i was super hyped before release but while I hear great things about the combat, everything I see about the character interactions, poor story, and shallow level/enemy design ended up making me wait until it goes on sell.

what did you guys think, you read through the character scenes or just skip through it for the rewards?

I personally loved the character interactions, and enjoyed them a great deal. Story was fine, and fun comic book level story as one should want from the setting.

Levels are simple, yeah, but it doesn't really harm it given the playstyle.

Writing is fine, and the mansion stuff is mostly lore and world building, as well as building character relations and so on. If you arent someone who likes social aspects of games, like Persona, then you wouldnt like it.

But it's done just fine, and super simple to max everyone's friendship out. No time limits, no limited gifts, ect.

Its nothing like XCOM really. The combat is much faster, there is no exploring, no fog of war, just a simple small map for combat. Only the story missions take longer due to being two sets of combat.

How hard is it compared to Xcom2? I beat the regular version but the war of the chosen was too laborious for me.

If you play on the normal difficulty, the game is super easy. Playing on higher difficulties rewards more cosmic currency and xp, so if you dont care about that it doesnt matter. Enemy scales with your level until you hit 25 and averages the party level (party size is 3 and doesnt increase), then your characters get "champion" levels that give less xp and offense, but enemies dont scale with it.

I want this game so badly

I'll probably get this game when they let you skip all the abbey crap, or let you do side missions in the same day (without having to sleep.)
