AKA working people that have normal salaries?

I definitely dont consider anyone who makes over $100,000 a guy with a regular job with a regular income. People like that are upper middle class professionals, not the working man

There is a really big salary gap between an RN and an APRN or nurse practitioner, about 30-40k.

I'm not really sure what this question is asking. These are white-collar jobs. Nurses have a comparable salary range to something like the IT field (technician, server admin, high level systems admin, etc.), though some doctors do make substantially more, depending on their field and experience. They are still not the sort of job that has "fuck you money" or whatever you want to call the position of being able to live a wealthy lifestyle off one's own investments for their whole lives should they quit practicing, especially with the cost of schooling to become a doctor, even though they'll be relatively well-off. I still think of them as living in the same world as the rest of us, just much more securely, for the most part; they're not the folks who own mansions and live behind gates, and they're constantly doing pretty messy and dangerous work for their money. Nursing especially is a super high-stress and high-workload job, and being a healthcare practitioner is a very dangerous field as well, including being the single field most likely to experience workplace violence (this is coming from patients/outside individuals, not coworkers).

well not sure about USA but here in canada they start at like 25$/hour CAD which is like 20 USD, they cant refuse overtime, nurses who work 80 hours a week may reach 6 figs but 80 hours is hell

doctors make good money, nurses I feel like should be paid double that, if not triple, its a rough job

Youre a pharmacist. You are definitely not a working class man. CEOs and level C employees work more hours than you do. Do you consider them part of the working class man?

Working man = secretaries, teachers, auto mechanics, construction workers, airport workers, Uber drivers, Amazon delivery drivers, etc,

You are talking about the working man and the working class as if they are the same when they are not. Theres a little thing called the middle class, where a lot of educated people who arent supremely wealthy end up.

You mention teachers as working class but theyve always been considered middle class. Im a teacher and Im on similar money to what youre saying alienates doctors from you.

As someone who worked at a hospital briefly I was shocked to learn that they had incentive based pay. Everyone was paid based on something called an "RVU" which you were awarded more or less for how complicated a procedure was. Open Heart Surgery for example might be 100 RVU's but giving someone a flu shot might be worth .5 RVU's. So I had to make a big excel spreadsheet with lookups after exporting their data to see how much they got paid. If I went to school that long I'd just want a regular paycheck! LOL

I know of teachers who make 6 figures or close to it as well as part-time pharmacists who make much less than 6 figures. What do you say to that?

Your tendency to tie who constitutes the "working man" purely based on income is flawed. Nurses for example work grueling hours and earn whatever they make but they are 100% members of the middle class. You need to rethink your thought process here.

First of all, Nurses need to get paid MORE. Especially now when there are massive shortages and people are being overworked.

Second, $100,000+ in the bay area is a lot of money???? Lmao.

They still need to get paid more.

My wife is a nurse. To say it's hard work is an understatement.

Third, nurses and doctors don't make anywhere near the same amount of money.... Why lump the together like that?

I make like ~$106k/yr and still consider myself normal >_> I still go to low-end and middle-end places and hang out with people who make way less or way more than me. I don't feel like I have to exclude myself from certain things, especially since I was making like $25k a decade ago and remember the struggle of barely making ends meet.

But even with that salary, it's still tough to buy a house around here even though I make almost double the average in my area. I hate the housing market so much right now.

Same. Rent is almost twice as much in California than it is in Missouri. Same with housing prices. Theres like no benefit financially to living in a higher paying state if the housing market and tax rates laugh at your attempt.
