Let me say first that I am not someone who thinks, that everything was better in the past than it is today. I love many modern movies and other forms of entertainment that have been made between 2000 and today.

I recently finished some games from my backlog and needed a break from gaming.

I made a list on IMDB which movies I have watched in my life. It turned out that there are about 65 movies that I haven't watched yet but always wanted to watch sometime. I decided to immediately start watching some of them.

It's really fun so far!

I've watched Killzone S.P.L, Fist of Legend, Once upon a Time in China, Predator 2 and Terminator 3-6.
I admit, some of these films were really mediocre and probably disappointing for fans of the franchise (Terminator Genysis...), but I still had fun anyway.

It's cool to finally watch some movies that have been on my "to-do" list for decades.

I intend to watch another 20 movies or so during the next 2-3 weeks so that I can catch up a bit. The rest I'll watch during the year.

Yeah, just wanted to say that.

Do you like watching older movies?

They're cool. I prefer them in a lot of cases.

Especially horror. Everything nowadays is jumpscare city. Yeah, I'm sure no one's gonna get "scared" if they suddenly hear a very loud noise+visual overwhelming their senses. That's like tickling someone and calling yourself a comedian.

yeah I came in here to say something along these lines. I know it's subjective, but I really don't consider a movie to be "old" if it came out in 1975

I was expecting like Apocalypse Now or American Beauty, not Predator 2 and Terminator 3.

I listed older films that I haven't watched yet. :-)

Those you mentioned are great, but I watched them already (several times).

My goal is to watch older movies that I didn't watch already.

Fair point :-)

But yeah, it's subjective. Let's say that "ancient" movies (- 1950) are not on my list. To oldest one is Seven Samurai (1954).

If you haven't seen Ghostbusters, you need to.

And both Alien and Aliens.

As well as "They Live."

1975 is actually a really natural cut off point. Films after 1975 rapidly have better film technology to preserve how the film looks. So something like Indiana Jones, the color still looks correct. Go back to something like Once Upon A Time In the West, and visually there is something off about it. From what I can tell its because the original masters have degraded with time, along with all early copies.
