If Rick & Morty fans are truly that much more upset about a belch being off pitch than Roiland being a domestic abuser and groomer, they deserve to lose their show.

I mean I'm a fan of a show but I'm not convinced continuing the show with a different voice actor is "morally better" than just cancelling the show. Not because like "oh sigh it won't be the same without him, they should just cancel" but because he's one of the creators of the show and I think it's perfectly reasonable to cut ties by not continuing to have one of his creations around.

Like it feels like more of just "uh oh we paid a bunch of money for episodes, so we're going to continue on!"

That's exactly what it is. I'm sure they're gonna use this upcoming season to gauge interest in it, and if it tanks they'll just cancel it regardless of how many seasons they originally have left

It's naive to think Adult Swim is worried about the morals of the situation. There's financial incentive behind their decision.

You can absolutely be taken to court (civil court) without criminal charges being filed.
Maybe I read this wrong, but nobody I know even knew about this before the news broke last week.

Addendum:
I'm reading now and yes, I was wrong.
He plead not guilty in 2020, but his pre trial hearing wasn't until this year.
Hence why the news broke.
Likely AS didn't know about it until now.
In fact, I can't find any report on the original filing in 2020.

So either they didn't know, like the rest of us or they're dipping now that it's gone to trial.
