Supposedly, it was the same as with the original PSP release. Which goes to show just how low-effort this porting job was.

It's only an up-res. I watched a video about it and even the audio sounds compressed.

I mean, they went through the trouble of adding a female MC with her own Social Links and some changes to the story (such as visiting Inaba), so on that front alone, that's pretty high-effort considering what they were working with.

i remember i tried playing this game on my PSP back in like 2008

i thought it was cool until i hit floors where you just get hit constantly by instant death attacks and it pissed me off. and the only solution is to just get a persona that resisted death

i said fuck it and never touched it again.

P4 and P5 were great though.

Ill stick with FES personally since FeMC doesnt phase me because the only interesting male characters are like, Akihiko and Shinjiro.

Idk how i feel about the portable changes. On one hand it makes total sense to me cause persona is just half visual novel, half jrpg. So having all the social elements be regulated to menus makes sense and makes the game go by faster, but there is a certain charm lost without the character models and environments.
But fuck Atlas, I love most of their games but they are cheapasses, i expected nothing new from this rerelease. ffs, Nocturne HD on switch still has performance issues.

The Persona 3 Portable port is plain terrible. So weird because the PC port of Persona 4 from a few years ago was great.

The initial reveal was the biggest hype to disappointment swing I've had in a while. If it were the og ps2 titles, I'd buy that shit with zero hesitation.

Atlus may be the absolute dumbest company in gaming.

The sheer amount of money they leave on the table by half-assing ports (SMT3's PC Release, P3P in general), or making the biggest bonehead decision possible (Releasing "Catherine Classic" on PC instead of the enhanced edition, taking literal years to port Persona 5 to Xbox/Switch, not announcing anything as far as games go for Persona's 25h anniversary, releasing SMTV exclusively on a console that can barely run it, etc.) is amazing.

Atlus doing Atlus crap.

I'm 90% sure they intended to announce Persona 6 at the end of the 25th anniversary thing but they probably didn't want a repeat of Persona 5's "Winter 2014" debacle since the game probably isn't as far along as they thought it would be.

You can still slink all the girls in your party. And only FeMC can slink with your male party members (and dog) and also notably has a slink with Ryoji later in the game. A couple of the schoolmate slinks are also changed to new characters.

Other than that there's not really much of a difference in the two playthroughs. FeMC does use a different weapon type than male MC does I guess but then again it's a P3P change that male MC is even stuck using one weapon type. In P3FES he can use almost every weapon.

Persona 3 in general feels very janky in comparison to 4 and 5 no matter which version you play. Not being able to control your party in FES isn't even the only problem; the entire game is tedious.

There are rumors going around that 3 is getting a remake, that is supposedly somewhat far along, using P5's engine. That same rumor also states P6 is currently in development.

Is it the fact that you have to walk around the same area of the school or mall every time for a little bit of npc dialogue or whatever which just feels tiresome and makes you rather they just show us the wall of text immediately?

Or that the one dungeon in the game is tartarus which is somewhat samey?

Almost like there were 2 sequels that came out since that both refined the gameplay to perfection.
