There used to be a setting in my phone browser that blocked off that space when you opened the page instead of adding it in later. So you don't get the shifting. That might help

Since fandom bought this place and the ads got more intrusive, I just block them completely now.

Get anything just get off Chrome.

There is a future update coming for Chrome that will disable all ad blockers on the browser as Google do not give a flying fuck about your privacy and security all they give a flying fuck about is the almighty dollar and tracking your movements so they can keep ramming shit in your face.

A poll was taken here a while back and most users on CE use Firefox.

Firefox Focus integrates ad blocking into your browser of choice. I have it enabled for Safari on my iPhone. It's also it's own ad blocking browser if you choose to go that route.

Nobody really knows where their ads are actually coming from. It's all just plopping in a random <script> tag and hoping for money.

I was always under the assumption that all browsers and internet businesses are out to get your information and throw ads your way because it profits them. I dont get pop up ads thankfully, but the ads in-between messages was annoying.

iPhone is superior. Cant convince me otherwise when the proof is out there.

Just tried Firefox and theres still ads except when you go into settings and block images. Problem with blocking images with Firefox is the captcha wont pop up and my log in was greyed out when I tried to log in. I also noticed the page will skip a little like it refreshed itself. That would be an inconvenience so Im going to stick to Brave for now.

Note that Brave desktop is a chromium port, and will have the same Manifest V3 screwjob as Chrome eventually.

Likely not an issue on iphone, as every browser has to use the same Safari engine.

Brave really gets the job done. I havent seen an ad or seen the page skip on me like Chrome and Firefox did. I also didnt have to install anything extra. On desktop Ill look into Firefox with unblock origin when I get on later.

How does Brave handle the message formatting of gamefaqs? I tried Adblock Browser, but for whatever reason, it adds a fuckton of spacing if I quote someone.

But without ad blocking, I will occasionally get spammed with an ad saying "this cereal should be illegal" which doesn't allow me to tap anything on the page until it goes away. That damn ad is what should be illegal

If you are going to change to Firefox on your PC Browser get the following add-ons:

uBlock Origin

Ad Block

Privacy Badger

Those 3 are a must. I find it best to have a couple of Ad Blockers as not all can cover all advertisments. For instance I currently have 25 ads and whatever blocked with uBlock and 5 with Ad Block.

If you use Youtube get Ad Block for Youtube and SponsorBlock for Youtube. SponsorBlock is a Godsend as it skips over all the sponsors and begging for likes and subscriptions on a video.

Hmm, I downloaded Brave on my Android phone, but it's having similar issues with gamefaqs that Adblock Browser was. When I'm typing a message, it slowly keeps adding several lines of blank space to the end of my post. It caused Brave browser to freeze when I was trying to post in a different topic lol

That is something else Firefox does far superior than Chrome.

On Chrome your bookmarks are only temporary and get wiped when you close the browser but on Firefox they are permanent.

Get the bookmarks sidebar for Firefox if you plan to have a lot of them.

Sorry I have to totally disagree with that.

Like I said uBlock and Ad Block separately doesn't cover everything it is best to have both and cover all bases.

Like I said I have currently 22 things blocked with uBlock and 5 blocked with Ad Block. Ad Block also covers Youtube.

I do not fancy No Script at all. It looks complicated as hell to use and I just do not fancy what it does.

fair.
NoScript is deep into "geek" level. It really needs a "community list" function that already tells you what script domains are needed for a site to function.
