I've been this way since leaving high school which left me with horrible anxiety and agoraphobia. I've spent most of my time inside away from people keeping myself busy with video games and TV series/movies and for the first few years i enjoyed that time but recently i've started feeling a strong sense of regret and sadness that i'm never going to have a real relationship or family. I've been thinking of how limited time is in life and it feels too late for me to change.

Does your family support you? Do you live with them?

I'm currently a NEET, but its not going to be a permanent thing. I'm not agorophobic, just extremely introverted.

Chronic unemployment isn't really a requirement, nor is basement-dwelling.

Yes, i live in my parents house.

If I didn't need to work to live and if I weren't engaged, I'd be one for sure.

I'm not engaged but I had to get out of my house because of awful parents. I'm like you though, wall to wall toys, wall scrolls and four anime body pillows. I like taking vacation days from work to just stay in my otaku den, lol. I have pretty bad anxiety, I start to sweat whenever I have to go outside but I know I just have to do it to keep my home base.

I've been a recluse since high school as well. I'm 36 now. I'm not an agoraphobe or anything. I can leave the house, I just don't care to all that much outside of neighborhood walks and going to the store.

I'm diagnosed autistic and get disability benefits, so I don't need to work.

Socializing and forming social bonds was never something that came naturally to me, or interested me, so I just didn't do it.

Call it a cope, but I get through life by embracing a "nothing matters, so fuck it" philosophy. Some might call it nihilism.

Taking a strong edible most nights also helps keep me happy.

Does anyone else occasionally get a strong feeling of loneliness out of nowhere and it doesn't go away for a day or two? That's how I feel today and it feels horrible but after a nights sleep it's usual gone and i feel happy alone again.

Yes I sometimes feel like that for a few hours but it goes away. I think that's normal, most people would call someone before it gets bad.

Sometimes I feel guilty for having so much free time, but I do absolutely nothing interesting or creative with it, because I'm a boring, lazy piece of shit who just feeds his basest desires with internet porn and drugs.
