Like when see people go hunting and they kill someone with a sniper rifle , then pose with it dead body. To me that is just so gruesome. I am not saying oh no should ever hunt or anything like that. But that part of is just wooo. To me.

Now if they fought the beast with just a knife and their witts that would be something. But now you just snipped someone that could not defend itself.

hunting is one thing. Posing with the corpse is morbid

when the first God of War game was released, Sony Entertainment threw a God of War party with a decapitated goat. There were photos of Sony men posing next to the decapitated goat. It didn't go over well with everybody that saw the photos afterward

Hunting without the intention of eating the meat is pretty gross to me.

No, I don't find it odd that someone who's big into hunting would display a kill like a trophy, that seems like extremely typical behavior for hunters.

I can't say I have any particular problem with hunting, but why are people acting like hunting to eat the meat and trophy hunting are any different in the modern world? You're not hunting to survive, go to the store and buy an already dead animal to cut down on the massive amount of food waste rather than killing another one senselessly. Or have a salad.

If you're not hunting to literally survive then whether or not you eat the meat is pretty irrelevant. You're still just killing animals for entertainment.

There are other reasons for hunting besides getting meat

I won't pretend that people ain't out there doin it for fun but there are valid reasons for it

my 15 y/o cat had a respiratory illness over Christmas (I bet it was COVID) and he is over it now but seems to be in declining health. Not eating much and lethargic.. I took a few pictures of him today so that I will have them whenever he passes be that days, months, or more years.

When he dies will I take one more selfie with him or a few photos in his final sleep? Probably.

I don't see it as any different than posting your meal on social media.

I'd rather pose with the freezer full of meat, actually.

I don't think you understand quite how much meat and animal has on it's body. Depending on what you're hunting, a single kill can last months and save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars on meat. Inflation is driving prices further and further up and pricing people out of basic groceries, hunting for meat is absolutely still for survival.

Plus, you know, a dead deer in the back of someone's truck, is preferable to a deer getting dead by running into the front of that truck.

Everything about trophy hunting is gross.

I don't have an issue with hunting for food. At least most people that do that don't brag and celebrate about killing an animal just for the sake of killing an animal.

Really, the alternative is the state spending tax dollars to cull wildlife when it gets overpopulated. Why do that when rednecks and weekend warriors will pay the state for the privilege of culling wildlife?
