In what way is it not?

If somebody is vocal about their right wing beliefs, its not that strange that people would consider her right wing, even if she also has some left wing beliefs.

Shes so fixated on campaigning against trans women, she doesnt realise the allies shes made in this fight also stand against everything else she supposedly holds dear.

Are we talking about the initial perception of her total political stance based on one of her views in isolation? Because I think it's completely fair to call that out on its obvious flaws.

If not, then it just comes across as "she's right-wing because she isn't totally left-wing in all things". And that really needs to stop.

I don't sympathise with her much. She has dug herself in being so public about this, and I do find her views on those issues abhorrent.

But IIRC she has always been vocal about her views, and many of the same people who despise her now were full of praise before her stance on trans issues came out.

maybe she realized that her allies don't act like literal siths and want to see her obliterated for the 90% of stuff they don't agree with but instead choose to embrace her for the 10% they do.

J.K Rowling has left of center views on everything except transgenderism and I think the only transgenderism she dislikes is Male-to-female transgenderism. If she was American she would be an Elizabeth Warren voter.

She is rather unique in that way. I don't think I have seen anything similar to her before.

She pities FtM people, which is honestly a step away from dislike. She considers them victims in that they're trying to "escape" the hardships of being a woman. She said as much in her 2020 "letter" that had she known "the option" existed, she might have transitioned herself as a result of her abuse.

Also it's not really good form to use "transgenderism". Implies it's an ideology and not just a thing people are.

It reminds me of about 8 or 9 years ago, when the far rights biggest target were Muslim communities. Various far right groups tried to build connections with Jewish groups, because of the Arab-Israeli conflicts and a perceived common enemy. Absolutely boggles the mind.
