papercup posted... I keep hearing about how amazing this ChatGPT thing is and how its going to take all the writing jobs, but I dont even know what it is. Is it really that much more impressive and useful than chatbots that have existed for the past quarter century?I can give you a good example of how it is basically making Stack Overflow irrelevant. ChatGPT has been trained with a very large amount of programming problems, which means that you can ask it problems in a similar way to how one would ask Google how a specific API works. Almost all of the time "how do I do x in y" will redirect you to Stack Overflow which is basically reddit for programmers (It's not, but this is a very high level explanation). Most questions on Stack Overflow have some power tripping mod and very low quality replies. ChatGPT will just give you the answer to the question without any bullshit if the question is simple enough. Here's one I ran the other day because I wanted to know how to effectively split a string on a delimiter in C++: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/7/3/1/AAZknmAAEI07.jpg I have around 10 years of experience in C++ and I would have never thought this up by myself (I did not even know std::accumulate existed). Here is the Stack Overflow response: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9277906/stdvector-to-string-with-custom-delimiter You see that the second example uses std::accumulate but the other responses are not as clean IMO. The highest voted option I would not even use because it has issues (read the comment about the trailing delimiter). The answer is not actually the correct answer here at all. I actually could not get this to compile and std::ostream_iterator is not even something that people use anymore as far as I can tell because there are more efficient ways to iterate in newer versions of C++. --- Whenever someone sings fansa and they don't input their name instead of mona at the mona-beam part I'm like "Are you even a real aidoru?". ... I don't think there's anything special at all about RDR 2 that would make it deserve a spot on any "best of" list that goes beyond a single console/year. Any search done by these things are going to require search parameters to be set. I was reading an article that seemed like a lot of nonsense about how much more these things can do such as draw up marketing materials and legal documents and memos and simple computer programming. while they can certainly draw up a template it would still take a human to fine tune it. And with any communication (other than simple confirm/cancel notices). it seems like they would be replacing many of the functions secretaries did which cut down their numbers years ago when computers became more user friendly and accessible. they could create a template list or fetch and retrieve information or run reports but like with anything the boss or primary person doing the work cant just let a memo fly out of the office without checking it first if had anything substantive to say. same w games game lists or sungenere game lists. Any game list will only be as non subjective as the parameters given to the ai. --- "I pet my dog I don't eat it" ~ Lemone ... Copied to Clipboard!
