It's illegal and you'll probably incur a hefty fee from the Nintendo Strike Force. Luckily my uncle works at Nintendo and if you give it to me, I'll make sure it blows over quietly

It was at a Half Price Books. I had to crop the photo so it could fit the post rules.

No commercially distributed game would ever have RP printed on it. A pre-release demo or something wouldn't have a fancy sticker like that either. Gotta be a bootleg.

Edit: lol. I googled the serial code on the sticker, and the first result is a Reddit thread titlted "I think this is fake. No Nintendo logo on the inside where the pins are. RP rating? I cant tell tho..." with the exact same cartrige.

Also that code refers to SSX3, not Mario Party.

If it is there the next time I am in the area, I may have to see if it is still there and inform someone. I doubt it was tested when sold.

It literally has the product ID for SSX3 on the label. Mario Party Advance is AGB-B8ME-USA.

My wife called the Half-Price Books and explained and they immediately pulled it out of the case. The employee said it should have been returned to the seller and it will be a good example of a show and tell of what not to take.

I will also say it reminded me of a "Game Swap" I had when I was a kid. I remember renting Majora's Mask from Blockbuster and when I got home and put the cartridge in my N64, the game played Shadows of the Empire (a good game, but an even better book). My dad had to take me back to Blockbuster and the associate said it looks like someone rented it, swapped out the insides and returned it. Thankfully they had another copy to rent and I would get the game as a present that Christmas.

Another bit of trivia to highlight that this is a bootleg:

Mario Party Advance is a 2005 game. In late 2003, Nintendo stopped using the phrasing "... of Quality" in their official seal. It was originally only intended to specify that a game was confirmed by Nintendo to be legitimate and would run normally on its intended hardware (without bricking it or something), but because it was widely misinterpreted to refer to the quality of the game, (which naturally varied wildly), this phrasing got dropped.
