What kind of player are you

Are you "form over function", where it's more important that the options you choose for your character match who that character is and what their concept is about, even if it's a less optimal build that won't make you a heavy hitter in combat?

Or are you "function over form", where you min-max your stats and abilities to make sure you're a beast in a fight and carry the entire party on your back, and the concept comes secondary after you've filled in the rest of the character sheet?

No option for "I do both" because there's no room for fence-sitting in this poll, and let's be honest, everybody tends to lean one way or the other when making a character even when making an honest attempt to balance the two.

I'm definitely form over function. High-concept characters are generally more fun to play imo.

sometimes for a oneshot or something I'll go straight power-gamer. usually though, I go with a concept and figure out how best to make that particular concept perform well
