Its not even the best Sony launch line up.

PSP and vita had a better launch line up.

I'm glad I feel no need to get hardware when first released. It has to impress me with a decent library first (and coming down in price doesn't hurt). Plenty of old stuff to play around with in the meantime.

I bought ridge racer and a bunch of ps1 games. My dad was like why didn't I just get you a ps1 for Christmas.. .

Launch games are always hit or miss but I miss the days when consoles came packed with a game which is why I loved the NES, SNES and N64 because you knew you were getting a pack-in game.

Summoner was awesome and I wish they'd do a third game or follow-up of some kind

A full-blown remake would be cool but fuck remasters

I played and enjoyed all the armored core games.

Eternal Ring was not good as I recall.

I don't think I played any of the other games, was Summoner and AC2 that much better than anything other consoles have offered?

3 games at launch by Fromsoft is definitely not bad. They are all listed by the publisher on that link, which was Agetec at the time. I would agree, it was a pretty solid lineup

I just watched an Eternal Ring review recently by a good Youtuber a few days ago, he goes over how it's the oft forgotten FromSoftware title. He points out it has a lot of good ideas but the game could have used more polish and a making things a bit more straightforward. The game also has a bad habit of being go straight at nearly all times, making the navigation far more boring.

SSX - I miss this series so much

I can't remember what games I got at launch looking at the list. I think I played several of them, but probably many were rentals. I am pretty sure I had Kessen. I think I may have gotten Madden and Ridge Racer as part of the bundle I pre-ordered. I do remember it was a pretty long dry spell for awhile after launch.

Every once in a while, I think about how we will never get Summoner 3.

I 100%ed 1 and 2.

3 would probably have heavily involved that little girl you meet in both games.

There are two games here that interest me. Below average tbh

Tekken Tag Tournament was actually really good, and had better graphics then the arcade game (but it also was basically Tekken 3 with all the characters and a tag mechanic). The rest of the games were mediocre to bad.

me too. This, Summoner and Time Splitters had me going for a long time

id be a forever SSX fan though, Ive bought every single game in the series

and then the next Christmas it was MGS2, life changing!

Honestly way better than I remembered.

Tekken Tag, Timesplitters, and Armored Core 2 were great.

SSX, Dynasty Warriors, and Smugglers Run were pretty solid.

Didn't care much for Sports games, but I remember Madden feeling like a huge leap forward, and feeling like one of the most "next gen" of the launch titles.
