When I was a kid, I remember one of my babysitters was watching a movie, I think one of the Rambo movies. There was a scene where a captured dude gets smacked in the face with a rifle butt and for some reason, that stayed with me.

There was also an episode of the monkeys where they were throwing knives at a dude against a bullseye and it scared me.

watched it in elementary school

for recent event i thought the book Tampa by Alissa Nutting was pretty wild. i can't believe books like that get published lol

Irrversible (minor spoilers):
When the man is beaten to death with a Fire Extinguisher, as a man nearby watches in amusement.

I think the fact the scene lasted as long as it did, was the big shock for me.
