Every year, there's an incredible food festival called Meet Yourself in my area.
basically, a couple streets are closed to vendors for people to show and sell their culture. It's mainly about the food and it is stellar.
the prices and portions are quite amazing as well. I was thinking the other night we can't be the only place to do it.
Does your area have something like this?
It's not quite like a carnival where everything is fried or giant size, and again, the prices are really good.

Maybe my lady and i will be visiting your area sometime if you have something like this.

Haven't really paid attention to any. But I do know that every year Blue Bell I've cream does a little Taste of Summer event, with games, entertainment, and as much free ice cream as you want.

They also tend to give away whole boxes of ice cream when the event is ending, so we tend to stick around.

The Taste of Minnesota sounds similar to what youre describing. I havent been to it in over 20 years. I think it was cancelled due to Covid. Not sure when itll be back.

Yeah. That's been canned apparently.
In the height of covid, they spread my Meet Yourself festival out and put the music onto the radio. You'd park, stand in line, bring the food back to your car, listen to their music, repeat. All of this surrounding a nice lot with lots of food trucks and stuff.

Looking into it, it used to be held right in front of the capital, thats where I always went. Then it was moved to Harriet island that got damaged in floods. Then moved like 2 hours away and people went fuck that noise. Lol

Too bad. I remember that being fun to go to. But I love food.

^ But hey, the State Fair is still around. You can find good stuff there if you know where to look.

Went with the wife last year and found severally really good places. Hit up a middle eastern place like 3 times.

The town I lived in during high school has an apple fest every year. Me and old high school buddy get really baked and show up every year. Chicken on a stick, apple dumplings, fried oreos, and sasparilla are some go to items. It's mostly typical fair food but I love it. It's more of a fall tradition than anything.

Here's guessing it cost you $90, but it was probably good.

The town I grew up in (Hilton NY) has an Apple Festival every fall. Imagine lots of apple pies, fritters, crisps, cobblers, etc. along with a bunch of other festival food. Awesome!

A town I used to live in called "Chili" (pronounced chi-lie) had a chili festival. It was pretty good.

My festival is extremely affordable. I might spend that much over the course of 3 days of excellent eating.
Thank you guys for this information.

There's the Taste of Omaha, but I've never been. Seems like it would be awfully crowded.
