For it being a movie with children as it's primary target audience, it had some pretty deep messages. Also makes me realize that movies/episodes where Team Rocket helps is some of the best stuff. Also, I'm watching the 3D remake of it and while the 3D animation is a bit jarring, it still holds up. Ahhhh fucking Pikachu and it's desperation. Still makes me wanna tear up despite knowing what happens. Truly such a great first movie. Although I do find it weird that Ash turned to stone.
