I am extremely excited for this one. The first blew me away - i put about 90 hours into my first playthrough trying to do everything. Enjoyed every minute. I hope the second fixes some of the story telling issues and adds new classes to tinker with!

I need to play the first one. I got done recruiting all eight characters and then kind of stalled out.

One thing that I didn't like was how it didn't feel like the characters were actually a party and didn't interact with each other in any way. I don't know if this got corrected later in the game but it gave the impression that I was recruiting generic classes to serve a combat function and not actual characters to tell a story with.

The first was very good. I'll be waiting for someone locally to sell it used next year. Worst part about living in Canada, games on release are close to 90 dollars. Even worse with Nintendo games as they tend to never drop in price. I wanted to get Kirby Forbidden Land during Christmas and it was still over 70 dollars even with Nintendos "Sale".

well luckily this one is releasing on steam day 1 as well which is where I will be buying it (mainly for achievements lol)

I think this is the big thing everyone hopes they change. It's very bizarre.

i don't really have any faith in this developer delivering anything except an extremely pretty game

It's also releasing on PS4 and PS5, so I'm hoping the existence of those two means we'll eventually see a lower price on the Switch version than we've ever seen with OPT1.

The OST in the first game was one of my favorites.

Never finished the secret final boss tho, it was too BS having to do a 1+ hour boss rush every attempt and not being able to save.

Apparently there are new "crossed path" scenarios which feature more than one protagonist so that should be cool

I think the issue is that the secret boss is strong and losing to it sucks

Its coming out on PS5 as well? Hecks yeah.

I remember it gearing comically easy towards the end because you essentially can infinitely restore yourself

Right. The 8 bosses before the final boss are easy enough, it just takes a while to beat 8 fucking bosses, and you can only save before starting them, not during or after. And then the final boss is really hard and in the likely event you lose, you have to do the 8 preceding bosses again.

yes, the final airship battle. Or at least I had issues fighting it.

Storytelling and character issues broke the game for me. After learning the characters barely speak to each other I lost all interest

They're supposedly fixing that for the sequel but I guess we'll see how true that is later this month.
