Curious to see what other unique experiences come with each house

hopefully there is one for each. It would be lame if only the snake folk got one.

He's not far off, it's 6/10

The thing about Forspoken is that if you got rid of the combat there would be nothing redeeming or enjoyable. The main character is unlikable, the open world is empty and barren, and the writing is a mess that jumps all over the place.

Forspoken is a AAA made game that didnt get high review scores is my point lol. Hogwarts Legacy getting high review scores is because its generally favored to be a great game.

Its not like the good reviews are inconsistent with the gameplay previews we've all seen. It looks to be a polished game with lots of exploration and spell choices.

I think people need to take into considerations that most game reviews start from 0 and have the game worked their way up to a 10 with things that it does to impress the person playing the game. There's something on people's mind that think all games start at a 10 and then you dock points for any negatives you come across like a Driving test.

With that said, I'm saying this blindly because I haven't even watched the review yet. I'll watch it on my break time.

Paid reviews are usually biased. Ive seen publications slam games and then give them a 7/10. Its almost like 7/10 is the lowest score that a complete game gets now.

Unfairly memed on game

Hogwarts Legacy sounds like the Horizon or most Assassin Creed games. Does everything functionally well but is overall pretty safe and the setting is really appealing.

Forspoken just has a lot more issues in general.

That makes sense, apparently I messaged a dev who worked on Hogwarts Legacy and he said that most of the veteran devs on the team are from AAA open world games. None of the devs that worked on the shovelware games are part of the team except for the exec heads.

James Stephanie Sterling has reported for years now that reviews have to give at least a 7/10. That's the "we can't go lower than this" score. If the reviewer doesn't give a score of at least that, the game company would stop giving review copies of games to that review site and that in turn would hurt their bottom line because they couldn't profit off views of the review article and video. So even without paying bribe money, major companies are gonna have enough sway to get good at least a "7/10" score.

There's no real conspiracy here. WB Games aren't exactly a massive publisher. Their only other game this year is Suicide Squad.

Reviewers like safe and competent open world games. This score isn't unique to Hogwarts. People don't pretend to like games like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry so they can keep getting review copies.

And yet IGN gave Gotham Knights a 5/10, the same publishers as Hogwarts Legacy.

Main things from the review that sounded good were the character-based quests and random side junk like monster breeding.

Still not getting this game any time soon because, well, it's 70 goddam dollars, but will probably check it out when it drops to 20.

"So most of the quests are pretty good, some of them are pretty annoying"

"There's a lot of pop in and frame rate issues"

"The enemy variety is seriously lacking, there are like 3 bad guy types"

Come on, IGN.

Did you like purposely missed all the positives he gives about the game or the ending part where he mentions that any complaints he had didn't overall effect his enjoyment of this game? I can probably make a bigger list of criticism or things I find annoying in games that I like, like Elden Ring, and it still wouldn't take away the fact that I think the overall package of the game is still good.
