Sure there were some non movie ads.

But it was all Shazam, Ant man, Shitty spiderman cartoon, Aquaman, Black Adam, Wakanda Forever.

And every single one looked the same.

I'm not one of those guys who gets irrationally mad at suphero films but man the lack of vareity in Hollywood is for sure on display.

We need a new Tarantino or Gilliam to step up.

The movie isn't even out yet and you're already fanboying that it's a masterpiece.

If you like it then that's fine and I hope you have a blast.

I'm just done with multiverse scenarios that defacto have 0 stakes.

A cartoon about 50,000 fan fic spiderman having a punch up just looked awful and the girl in the trailer was so annoying.

Even if Ant Man and Black Adam and Shazam are all just dudes saving the world from the monster of the week, at least it's the world.

Im supposed to think a movie is amazing solely because of the special effects now? Okay.

Not taking anything away from how good they were, but they were in sharp contrast to the story itself.

Also calling superhero movies "CGI" movies is silly

Comparing UP to Avatar to Black Adam as the same 3 movies because they all "feature CGI" is madness.

The point is there's usually at least some vareity in what's advertised

I can't think of any TV show or movie beyond Rick and Morty and one episode of Star Trek TNG that went "Actually there's infinite realities so nothing matters." becase defacto doing so ruins what the characters are fighting for.

Batman Begins is widely regarded as one of the best superhero films ever made and amounted to a PHD, a rich spoiled brat and a ninja cosplayer having a slapfight.

"Oh no will SPiderman 2475485454 stop spider man 55564975876574 before spiderman 55464569986 causes Earth 546465966654 to be more like Earth 94655654585847" is just poopy storytelling for me.

There's a reason why people are heartbroken about Bambi a century later and it's directly because Bambi's mom couldn't just walk in from the universe next door at the end of the film.

I agree, but it needs to be done well.

Avatar 2 created a gorgeous original world that otherwise couldn't be done.

Dune mixed CGI, cinematography and production design in a brilliant way where it was hard to tell what come from what aspect.

But many Marvel movies look like they are jumping around in front of flat videogame screen.

Yo, you better not be talking about Spiderverse

Also, saying the "multiverse" thing removes the stakes is silly because a) Everybody already knows superheroes don't die in movies anyway unless it's under certain circumstances (like Endgame) and b) people grow attached to specific versions/iterations of characters. Miles in Spiderverse and Miles in Spidey PS4 are functionally two completely different characters due to going through radically different events. It's why people will debate over things like their favorite version of Spider-Man or Batman

Except I was.

I was saying I find the concept of a multiverse movie about an infinite amount of the same character in an infinite amount of near identical realities negates the value of having different iterations of a character

And you accidentally agreed with me by arguing how cool it is different interuptations of characters exist in their own seperate continuities were actions have consequences and there's a scale.

Mark Hamill is an amazing Joker, Jack Nicholson is a great Joker, Ceaser Ramero is a great Joker

A story were they amd about 5000000000000 jokers all meet up and start trying to outcrazy each other while 40000000 different harely's make out is a dull lazy story.

Any story where you can blow up the planet and just go to another identical planet in the universe next door sucks

Rick and Morty literally parodied the cosmic horror of meaninglessness brought on by this concept years ago.
