At the end of the day people who purchase games just care about one thing, is the game going to be fun? Is the game going to deliver what it sets out to do? Yes? There's a chance it's going to sell well. No? There's a good chance it might flop. I think the issue with these boycotts and why they don't work is because you're suppose to be trying to convince those who are either on the fence or those who have the intention to buying the game ... to not buy it. It's probably easy to convince those on the fence to boycott, but it's not so easy to convince those who are in the second group. That's where the boycott fails, especially doing something as making a website attempting to lynch those who play the game on stream. Something like that is counter intuitive to the cause. I already saw this boycott as a losing battle the moment it was announced that this game's pre-order was some of the biggest on Xbox and Steam (don't know how well it did on the Sony charts though). So the only saving grace was if the game was super bad, mediocre, game breaking bugs and glitches so people would refund the game for being unplayable like what happened to Cyberpunk 2077. Unfotunately, reality took a different turn and now I only expect this game to continue selling more copies. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches 10 million units sold by the end of this month. The silver lining is, at least JK Rowling had basically no involvement with this game, other than being one of the IP holders, and not only did the devs added in a trans character you can talk and interact with but you can also customize your character to be trans as well.
