Games have been 60 for over a decade, and to make up for inflation we've been drowned in buggy messes, p2w trash, overpriced DLC, etc.

Make a quality product and I'll happily pay a modern-day price for it.

Make a quality product and I'll happily pay a modern-day price for it.

I personally don't care about games increasing in price (although I prefer they didn't just for the sake of other people) since I can afford them, although I rarely ever buy a game at full price anyway. However you are kidding yourself if you think all of that will stop with higher priced games.

You know full well that games will still have all those problems even if the price for a new game was hiked up to $100.

But I'd rather not see what the gaming industry is forced to come up with next when gamers keep denying their ability to keep up with inflation. Practices will just get shittier and shittier and f2p games are already more tempting to develop than AAA masterpieces.

It is unlikely, but the special/collectors botw was 50 bucks on launch year during black Friday

Thankfully, I already pre ordered it on Amazon and they have a price guarantee.

Yeah not really surprising. But I already buy Nintendo games for 60 dollars, so what's 10 more? I won't usually pay full price for any non-Nintendo game, so the price going up for those makes no difference to me either. Zelda is also the only AAA game coming out in the near future that I plan on buying day one anyway.

Amazon, Target, Best Buy and others are no longer allowing people to preorder the game at 60 dollars. They all say unavailable or out of stock right now lol.

Not spending 70 for a game, not even a TLoZ game.

This is why we should never allow games to go completely digital.

Nintendo realized they could get away with releasing unfinished/half ass games back at the original splatoon. Now, they trying to get away with this before even the next gen console.

$60 was fine but $70 is just too much

Sucks. But considering how few games I purchase nowadays (not to mention the tangential fact that I'll soon be dropping 500 smackers on a fucking Lego set), personally I'm not going to poo-poo over 10 dollars.

Games require bigger teams, should have more time to debug, more space etc.

DLC was pretty much forced on us to try to keep the price of games at $60. Buy the half-assed game for $60 and have the option buy the full game for $150. It's sucks, but they have to eat.

It's a 1st-party Nintendo game. If you have any intent on playing it any time before Black Friday, you may as well just go ahead and preorder as soon as the listing appears.

Bruh, imagine paying $70 for a game that's 720 resolution in handheld and 1080p 30 fps docked.

At least release a more powerful system before you price hike.
