Heracross is a Bug/Fighting type Pokemon with a pretty nice attack stat.
He(racross) has existed since the late 90s so he has a few years of extra experience on Vergil. Heracross was a popular Pokemon in gen 3 that won a lot of fights. They gave him a mega in Gen 6 with a turbocharged attack stat.

Vergil? He's obsessed with his sword and he uses the Dark Slayer style so he's likely gonna be Steel/Dark type. That's a quad weakness to fighting and no resistance to bug moves.
Vergil spends his time peppering ragdoll tier enemies with weak moves and standing slack-jawed to raise his concentration meter.
Vergil loses a bunch of times in DMC1 then a bunch of times in DMC3. His beating at the hands of Mundus was so ludicrously over the top that they dared not show it on screen.

Here is what would happen.
Vergil would put the summoned swords on (The new ones that break in one hit not the DMC3 ones) and teleport over to Heracross, Heracross would crouch down like you'd expect a beetle too and low profile underneath them. Vergil would pull out his book and read aloud "HEAVY CHAIN THAT DOES FREEEEZE MY BONES AROOOUUUND!" to build devil trigger, unwittingly opening himself up to attack.
Heracross would then spring up from the ground and hit Vergil with Close Combat. Quad weakness + STAB means Vergil loses all his health in one shot. Doesn't even need to be a crit.

Also before the fight Vergil would do that taunt where he spins a summoned sword and smashes but this time he'd cut his hand on one of the broken summoned sword shards, yell out and call for a time out.

As if it wasn't bad enough that Vergil probably doesn't give much EXP when defeated, there are people trying to further detract from Heracross' moment of triumph.

Vergil is half human, half demon, so he is actually Normal/Dark. Heracross still has a huge advantage though, Normal is weak to Fighting.

I know this is probably a shitpost or kopypasta, but why do people assume non-pokemon suddenly follow pokemon's typing for strengths/weaknesses when fighting pokemon? When the non-pokemon loses, does the trainer katch it in a pokeball too?

I'd say no, but that's sort of what Mundus does to Vergil with Nelo Angelo. Adds him to the Phantom/Griffon/Nightmare team like he's doing a Nuzlocke where each gets 3 lives.
