Starting house of chains. I've heard great things about Karsa and expectations are high

The first 1/4 is very different than what has come before

House of Chains is the last book of the series I read. I think I read a bit into the next one (Midnight Tides?) and the entire book was about the least interesting character in Chains and I just didnt care. Eriksons prose was already grating on me and if not even the scope of the world he created was engaging anymore it seemed like time to call it quits.

There are several major POVs just like every other book. I dont even know that Id consider that one character to be the main character of MT. MT does have a slow first half, but the second half is incredible. Probably the best paced book in the series in that it continues to get better and better as you go along

House of Chains does not waste time starting off

So I'm starting part w of House of Chains. Karsa was really interesting, I'm curious to see where that goes. Now back to the Malazan army and the remnants of the chain of dogs, but it is a pretty significant slowdown.

books 4-6 are the peak of the series
