I had to start it multiple times, including pretty recently, so I can't say yet.

I would rank it as the second worst FromSoft game I've played

definitely my favorite Souls Game.

Not even remotely close to my favorites.

DS 3 > DS > ER > demon's souls > DS 2

ER would be at the front if the open world was more focused, had less copy&paste dungeons and if they had bothered to change some things like the quest design

Its not in my top 10 all time but its a very good game.

Id rate it 8/10, the open world makes difficulty hard to keep consistent. Early game is great dark souls level of trial and error difficulty but mid to late game is too easy. The end game suddenly spikes to stupid difficulty and makes finishing a chore.

Never played it, but I love that it exists. I've seen videos and it just looks like a love letter to gaming. Cool stuff for cool stuff's sake, in outrageous abundance, there to be enjoyed with no microtransaction menus cluttering the experience.

Top 5 all-time, alongside Phantasy Star Online, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid, and Ocarina of Time.

It would be in my top 10

Definitely in the top five. If it isn't revolutionary it's only because other devs are stupid and don't imitate it.

Sekiro >= Elden Ring > Bloodborne > DS3 > DS1 > DeS > DS2

Post-Anor-Londo DS1 is so outrageously bad but the novelty of the world design should keep it above DeS

Hard to put Sekiro above ER because ER is so much content and freedom but I also think Sekiro is like the perfect action game. Bosses like Genichiro are literally perfectly crafted mechanically

It's not even in my top 20 games of all time. For a current gen game however sure I'd put it in my top 5.

I played it today for about 3 minutes but I just didn't have much fun. I miss having fun with it . If only I could get amnesia to make it fun again. It was such an amazing experience last year.

Below all of the other souls ones except Bloodborne. Didn't like either. Loved my first playthrough of elden ring - that was magical. After that, I was totally bored with it. I already knew where everything was so subsequent runs were just walking or riding the horse everywhere to get all the relevant shit and b lining to any other items or bosses I cared to fight. The game is a lot more fun when you don't know what to expect. If it had a randomizer or something it would be worth playing a lot more

I also just straight up don't like fighting half the bosses. They do way too much damage to the point where I don't really feel motivated to try when I can fuck up once and immediately be 1-3 shot in most scenarios.

Worst of all, the boss vs boss videos on youtube are boring.
Sometimes I ask people who've played it how it holds up on repeat playthroughs and it sounds like a chore to replay.

so i think that criticism is somewhat misguided; repeat playthroughs mean you know where everything is so you don't have as much incentive to explore, and that's the main complaint people seem to have, but for me it means i can just get the stuff i need for a new build really quickly, if it's the kind of build i already know how to make (lol pure str).

it took me like two hours in ng+ to get to where i usually invade, which is at about 75% into the game. give or take.

my main (actual) issue with the game is that there's an awful lot of sparse. and no autorun; i actually ended up with a sore thumb for the first time ever with a video game.

but actually answering the question posed, in terms of souls games, it's like 1a and 1b to me, with dark souls 1 getting 1a because it was first.

It's my first Souls game. I LOVE it. I'm currently doing multiple files on it (A NG frenzied flame file, a magic file, and a Link RP file) and I'm still not bored of it and don't see myself getting bored of it for a long time. I never really think about or rank my favorite games of all time, but if I did I would imagine it's up there in the top 5; top 10 at the very least.

I'm never any good at PVP in general. Haven't tried it in ER, but I'm sure I'd suck there too.

Compared to other FromSoft games I've played

Sekiro > DS3 > Elden Ring > Bloodborne > Ds1 > Ds2

Elden Ring is like a 9.5/10

Bloodborne > Dark Souls 3 >= Elden Ring > the rest

Havent played it and never will.

The most fun was the character creator. Spent about 2 hours in it.

Unfortunately that cost me my refund on steam. So now it's gonna collect dust in my library because I did not have fun playing it at all.

It's pretty good but I got bored of it quickly.

Overall probably like a top 30 game for me

As a Soulsborne, tied for first with Dark Souls 3 for me and that might change if DLC happens. But note that I barely played Bloodborne and Demon's Souls.

A hot take but a very respectable list imo, wouldn't personally put DS2 that high but I rank it higher than most

Elden Ring and Bloodborne are kind of a toss-up. I really loved the exploration and community interactions I had with Elden Ring, but Bloodborne is definitely more replayable.

It's alright but not really for me. Not big into souls like games outside Remnant.
